the first quarter of school i got all A's and one B .
its only been what, the third week of the second quarter and i already have three B's.
my habit has been bad because i'm so addicted to the computer! ( i shouldnt even be on here.)
what should i do?
how do i stop going on the computer?
the only thing that can seem to stop me is my parents, but they usually go out these days
because of church, work, etc etc, so then when they're gone i cant resist the computer... goshhhh!
gahhh! my asian studying habits are dying..
what should i do?
i need to get straight A's this quarter

EDIT:
i cant study with friends! i get WAY TOO DISTRACTED :'[[

You play MMO?
Then form a study group with your guild or friends. Real players study while questing.

MMO as in MMORPG = mass multiplayer online roleplaying game.
But I guess you're not a gamer type.

Can't study with friends, then start up a study thread on these forums. That's what a lot of people do (on facebook, myspace, class-specific forums, etc.)

Ask a friend to take away your monitor. Or better yet, take out all the plugs connected to your computer.
I study while I play. Seems hard...quite easy for me. While I'm on Atlantica on auto-move, I study bit by bit. Consuming large chunks of information all at once is never a good thing to do. Then there's also when I'm in a PvP match with someone and they try to use the timer to win against me. In the 25 seconds they are wasting, I am memorizing a definition in my Chemistry textbook.

You need some motivation to get those A's. That is what pushes me to get the grades I got for my last term grades; 98 in History woo!
My desk is cluttered with post-its and napkins with reminders on them. Somehow these actually help me remember to do things.

AH! I just remembered something. You could use Skype or Ventrilo and study with some people. (Fellow Soompiers?)

witsups?

get a suitcase.
put your computer in it.
get a lock.
lock the suitcase.
put the key to the lock somewhere high/far/hard to get.

thus, youll have to spend a lot of energy to get your computer out, which youll be to lazy to do[;

oh man...that really is bad =( my first quarter is just ending so i have finals this month.
and i'm doing everything to prepare for it. i also have a really bad computer habit just like you but i manage to get straight A's by prioritizing. hiding the computer won't help for me, it's gonna make me more desperate to go on. so really, all you need to do is prioritize. i plan my day. (i know how nerdy) but it kinda works. like what they say, work now play later. do all your homework and studying right when you get home and then you'll realize how much time you have left to go on the computer =)

good luck!

i definitely agree. like someone above said, try going to a library,
or some other study-type place. i usually go to a coffee shop/cafe at least once a week,
and just sit for a couple hours and finish up all of my work for that day.
if you did that, you wouldn't have to worry about having to finish anything at home,
where you'd be distracted by going on the computer. just set a schedule for yourself,
and put school work first; that way you'll be motivated to finish so you can have free time afterwards. (:

yeah, i can't work in study groups with my friends either,
so i prefer going to a quiet place and working by myself.

good luck with your grades this quarter!
