Which way is the best way to break up with someone ...in which way that doesnot make it harder on both parties? On the phone? In person? Letter? What? I'd appreciate some input. Thank you.

give them hope for future if don't want to get back together in NEAR future. (do not keep them waiting for a year)
make up bs excuses, just tell them the truth. it will allow them to learn for the future.

tell them reasons
make sure it's clear to them you don't like them anymore.

and, say sorry. probably.


also, if they want to avoid you after the break up, then let them. dont try to save the friendship.

Phone is the worst way to break up with someone. You run risks of the other person hanging up spontaneously to avoid the conversation and etc. Letters are pathetic. You get your point across but might not get the desired effects.

In person is the best way. You can communicate your feelings best, and you can get your point across in ways that hopefully the other person can understand. Best of luck. Just know that whatever you do, someone is going to walk out getting hurt regardless.
