I got my contacts yesterday,
and I'm pretty sure the diameter of them is too big for me
does anyone know a brand of contact lenses that suit asian eyes the most?

and, when you put on eye make up, do you put your contacts first or make up?

thanks happy.gif

Please don't tell me you didn't get your prescription from your optometrist. When you get contacts through your optometrist, they're suppose to let you try them on and see how they fit. Most contacts are around 14-14.5 in diameter, unless you got circle lenses. Then they're suppose to be a bit wider. I'm not exactly sure how they can be too wide for you...

Contacts then makeup.

^ it obviously doesn't have to be but i just think it's easier that way so the make up won't smear while you're putting on the contacts...but i dont understand how it is hard to put on pencil eyeliner with contacts on? o.O i put liquid eyeliner on my top lid with my contacts already on all the time.

Ummm.. I don' think contacts can be bigger then your eyes if its non prescription, but if so your optometrist is suppose to let you try it on before.
- I would choose contacts before makeup, just incase I start tearing up and ruin my makeup smile.gif

Er, the contacts should be slightly bigger then your iris? At least they are for me so they sit over the entire "seeing" part of the eye.

But if they're uncomfortable for any reason, see your doctor. There aren't specific brands made for races lol. Contacts are contacts.

Also, if I wear eyeliner, I put it on after I put my contacts on.

i dont understand how they are too big for you. you have to pull your eye lid slightly up to put them on anyway. didnt you get fitted for contacts before you ordered them? because if you did, then you should ve worn a trial pair for two weeks then order a supply of them. are you talking about corrective contacts or circle lens? i have toric contacts for astigmatism and they are 14.4. they fit fine and they are larger than normal contacts. maybe you should go back to whenever you bought them and get fitted for contacts again.

They should fit your eye...did you get it from a good optomitrist?
Cause they're supposed to see if it fits before they let you buy them.
Anyway, I wear Frreshlook Colorblends and I'm supposed to put contacts in before makeup, but I always forget. rolleyes.gif
But it's easier to put on makeup after they're in or the contacts might come out if you move your eye too much.

contacts then makeup. especially since if the contacts aren't put in correctly, then your eyes get all watery & your eye makeup is all messed up.

there's no certain brand of contracts for asian eyes, but you should've tried them on & made sure they were comfortable (comfortable meaning you can barely feel them) before you left the optometrist / store. If they weren't comfortable, there should be no extra charge for you to exchange the contacts .. but it might be too late now if you opened a new box already. >.<

when I went for the mandatory training at lenscrafters (canada),
they said I had to train with non prescription lenses due to the fact that my prescription
is too high, so the lenses would take longer. I was trained with Focus Dailies and the lady told me the diameter is 13 which is best suited for smaller eyes
it was very comfortable, but when my contacts came yesterday it was Frequency 55.

btw, I wasnt saying that they made a brand for asians, I was jsut asking which is more comfortable xD

they shouldnt have gave you trials that werent your prescription and werent the brand they were planning on ordering for you. you need to go back and talk to them about and get the brand you had the trials with since they were comfortable. every brand feels different with every person. so one brand that may feel great for one person may not feel comfortable to you.

I don't understand how the contacts are too big for your eyes. :s It's suppose to be big enough to cover your iris... Did you see the optometrist?

Put on contacts before make-up, and take off your contacts before removing make ups... This is what i read from the book, so that dirty stuff won't get into your eyes.

I use Acuvue 2. If the contact keeps moving around, it could be because the base curvature is too big. That's what happened with mine and I got a smaller base and it fits perfectly now.

lolololol the 'diameter' of an asian eyeball is most likely the same size as a caucasian eyeball.
(the lids are different)

you probably just need to get used to contacts :]
it'll take awhile, but it's worth it.

contacts then makeup; its easier to see and you dont want to blink and get mascara or power-eyeshadow all over your contact :x
