I remember someone telling me that they dont put rings or brackets on the very last molar because it will causing scratching or cut my gums or something but right now its like the rest of my teeth look straighter but the very last molar remains unmoved.

am i worrying too much or something? i've had braces for about four months now and had four teeth extracted for braces

will the eventually put stuff on the very last molars of each row? Right now its like the rest of my teeth are all moving except the end ones on each row

i hope what i asked makes sense mellow.gif
are they like waiting till the extraction holes get closed up or something?

is this even normal?

Your molar might not have enough room for a bracket or molar band to fit around it. That's what happened to me.

I don't think they're suppose to put anything on the last molar since the last molar is between gum and the 2nd to last molar. If they put something on the last molar they'd have to separate your gum from your tooth..ouch.

I have braces and my orthodontist didnt put any rings or brackets on my last molar. I believe the ortho would align your teeth according to the last molar perhaps? If I were you, I won't stress over it. The ortho has his/her own reason why there shouldn't be a bracket on the last molar. You should ask your ortho though, if you want clarification.

i dont have anything on my last molar either. if theres no problem with the last molar, they wont put anything on it. plus its too far back so it ll be harder to clean if you had anything on it. if you are really worrying about it then ask the next time you go the orthodontist. i never gave too much thought to it. it just means less pain for me
