Okay so I don't like food. At all.
A lot of food makes me feel queasy to my stomach and I don't know why.
I have a HUGE list of food that I just refuse to eat. I am very picky with what I eat because like I said, I don't like food.

CHICKEN AND RICE <---- the only real food that I like to eat. -__-

ANYWAY.. so I haven't really been eating this past month.
I just don't feel hungry and I feel like I have to force myself to eat.
My stomach just always feels full.. and I can't eat anymore after a few bites.
I don't know why.

That's why my dad says I have an eating disorder..
It's not like I binge and purge or anything like that.. crazy.gif
But he just doesn't think my eating habits are normal I guess?
I don't know.

Are there any others out there who have this eating problem?
Is it because of stress? Depression?

If you have stress/anxiety/depression issues it's most likely linked
to that rather than an eating disorder.

Are you at least getting enough to eat to be considered healthy? If not then I'd be concerned.

I personally love food, but there have been times where I just don't feel like eating, or even forget. This usually happens when I'm really busy or stressed out...Like say during finals week when I'm pressing for time. But usually after the all the hell I find time to relax and eat normally.

I guess the fact that you get full easily isn't surprising...Your stomach kind of shrinks if you don't eat enough, so you don't need to eat as much to be full. At least that's what I've experienced in the past when I was dieting. But it'll expand gradually when you eat more food.

eating disorders extend far past the usual binge and purge that everyone thinks of. You might want to see a doctor JUST in case there really IS something wrong because hunger is something that you should have, like a reflex. If you suddenly stopped blinking you'd definitely go see a doctor so hunger should be the same. When you stop feeling hungry for THAT long, somethings off.

It seems to me that you might have one.
Go to the doctor, please.

ohmy.gif you don't like food??
there's all types of food in this world that are so ridiculously yummy

there are times when we all don't feel like eating, mainly due to stress (but then to others, it's reversed -- stress leads to lots of eating) , but it shouldn't get to the point where you're not eating for a month. that's not healthly =[

maybe you should go to a doctor and get it checked out

Your dad isn't a doctor. You aren't a doctor. Neither are any of these people here.

Go see a family doctor for a proper diagnosis.

And keep in mind that a disinterest in food may indicate more than just an eating disorder. There may be a variety of mild to serious health disorders related to lack of interest in food and the inability to eat properly. So before you make any conclusions or dwaddle away your time, go make an appointment and fully explain your condition to a qualified doctor.

To me, it doesn't sound like an eating disorder, more so like a mental-issue going on. Like you've got some sort of mental block when it comes to food maybe, what do I know, I strongly suggest you go see a doctor. It could be something fishy going on with your mind.

Stress? Depression? From your post, you make it sound like you've been like this your entire life so I don't think it's that.

I agree with Oreobear's comment. It would be best if you could see a doctor about something like this. Perhaps it's more than just feeling full or not liking food. There could be something that would need further testing that none of us here at Soompi know about. Your best bet is to see a professional and then take it from there. smile.gif

How old are you? and what's your height and weight?

i think you should go see a doctor for a proper diagnosis...

My story - When i was growing up, i was almost like you. i never "loved" to eat. i wouldn't feel hungry or if i did, i didn't eat much since it didn't take a lot of food to make me feel full. i didn't like the feeling of having a full stomach and i thought eating took too much work. i was a picky eater too. in fact i remember there were times when i'd only take a couple bites of chicken and then run off. i didn't like tomatoes, onions, peppers, cucumbers.... most vegetables.

i'm pretty sure my eating habits affected my growth/height. i was always tinier than most kids my age. most kids usually grow somewhere around their parent's heights... even though my mother is 5'3", i ended up only hitting 5'0". My brother grew taller than my dad by a few inches, but i ended up being shorter than my mother by a few inches. nowadays i eat anything, but obviously its past my growing stage - i'm 21 now. i regret i didn't eat more when i was a kid. I also wonder why my mother never did anything about it... she probably didn't realize i may have had an eating disorder. when i look back at it, i'm pretty sure i must have had some kind of eating disorder and maybe a fear of "fat" and had some underlying anorexia. i think you should seriously get this checked out.

I can't help to think you're lucky. sad.gif I love food too much and I think I'm too obsessed with calories and what I eat. I wish I didn't have cravings and could just ignore it!

And in reply to your question, no, I don't think you have an eating disorder. but I do think you need to learn to eat more. One of my friends is very bored with food and only has a caffine pill to keep him going throughout the day. :\ sometimes he doesn't eat anything for like 5 days. You should do things like cook for yourself and maybe you'll find hte stomach to eat more kinds of foods.

I think you need to see a doctor. It may not be an eating disorder but if a lot of food makes you queasy then you should definitely seek professional medical help!!

I've been stuck home for the past several weeks.
I don't do much physical activities, so naturally I require less energy to get by the day and eat a lot less than usual.
But that doesn't mean I have an eating disorder right?
There of food that makes me feel queasy too.

Don't stress yourself out thinking you might have problems just because you're a picky eater.

Although, stress and other mental/health problems could affect one's appetite, that's for sure.

The question is,
Do you feel anything off in your current state of physical/mental?

O.O you and I have so lots in common - relating to food of course. I dislike food too! My friends who are foodies think I'm crazy. My parents don't think I have a eating disorder though ... I eat small portions but at least 3 times a day. I mostly eat chicken&rice too <3 it's so good! There's fried chicken, steamed chicken, ketchup chicken, bbq chicken - oh man! Haha.

Maybe it's just our taste buds? Me personally, I rather shop than eat =x.

P.S. I've been like this for years. I'm really picky with food too so that's why I don't eat a lot in the first place. Even the places that are REALLY good to many people I don't find it very delicious =/.

It might be because you're picky? Do you have any places that you absolutely love? You can try Panera Bread's Chipotle Chicken sandwhich. It's the one food item that I love. Lol. It might help! smile.gif

i had that.. not necessary being picky with food but i would have a bite or two of something and i would feel full and not want to eat anymore. I went to the doctors and they told me i was lacking vitamins so yeah and the vitamin pills didnt work much.. but i found it was easier to eat stuff with a bowl of soup and yeah.. helps me swallow easier too.

If your dad is that concerned, it would be a good idea to get checked out by a doctor. My main concern with this is that you're going to be vitamin deficient. There's specific criteria that you have to meet to be able to be classified as anorexic (which I think is the eating disorder you're referring to, since you claim to not be binging and purging). Like, have you been missing your periods? Has your weight dropped significantly from normal? Etc...if it is stress related then you need to mention your sources of stress to the doctor and see if he can help you with it. I'm not a doctor but I am a medical student-just keep in mind that I and not even a doctor would be able to diagnose you over the internet. If you want any further advice, feel free to ask.

This can actually be a major health problem. My cousin used to get sick to her stomach every time she ate.... until they found her that her body cannot handle gluten. Ever since then, she's been fine.

I have a friend who also cannot handle food very well. She has a disease called Crohn's.

If it seriously makes you sick, you need to consult a doctor.

Oh yeah, you're not the only one.
I get like that a lot too. xD
Sometimes I feel SUPER hungry and then sometimes I feel like I don't want any food at all.
During the times I don't feel hungry but try to eat anyway, I feel nauseated after a few bites.
It comes and goes, lol.
But for yo uit shouldn't be that much of a problem 'cause you're still eating, but not a lot.
