I currently live in on campus dorms that are to put it lightly near-suicidally boring 24/7. Other than that sitting and watching when its warm on Thursday and Saturday nights, when the drunk girls come back from the clubs, which makes for an interesting smoking session with friends as we watch them, but that is over anyways now due to the cold weather, and it was mildly entertaining at best anyways.

Here's my main issue and situation as I see it and as it is in my mind. I'm 21 and this campus is a dry campus, with cops all over the place 24/7 arresting/ticketing people left and right for everything you might imagine would be on a college campus that tries to achieve the impossible in terms of a dry campus.

As a 21 year old I am going to drink, as I would anyways, but as I see it I should just go ahead and move in an apartment, where I could drink and do w/e else I wanted to.

The thing is I'm all situated here, and if I move back home and commute till I can get an apartment, which is a viable option, one half of me says, I will prolly regret leaving and having certain freedoms when not living at home, at the same time, the other part of me says that it will be worth it to move into an apartment later on where you can do w/e you want.

What do yall think i should do? Don't think in terms of morals please, i don't give a damn about someone's moral views on drinking, I do however value ur opinions on my moving situation.

if you can move into an apartment. like others said, more freedom and you wont have to worry about RA's and campus rules. if you do move in with friends make sure that they'll be able to make rent on time. i had a roommate that was pretty inconsistent when it came to rent and it didn't end to well dry.gif

I had a similar dilemma in college. I think it would be okay to move back home for a bit before you get an apartment. It might be inconvenient, but it's the best way to save money and getting an apartment will be totally worth the inconvenience. Besides, living at home wont be permanent anyways! GOodluck finding and apartment and don't get caught doing whatever! Try to get the first floor. If you throw parties, apartments have REALLY thin walls so people underneath you will be complaining off the hook.

yea thanks yall i think i will end up going home for awhile and then getting an apartment, i feel that being 21 and living in a place where i cant exercise all my rights as a 21 year old, i feel its only a matter of time b4 i get in trouble due to that, and thats just not worth it just so i can be close to campus, which is really boring anyways cuzz everything happens off campus

Yes I think you should leave. And get your own place. At least you can prance around naked. And my campus was a dry campus too, but people were able to sneak in alcohol. Being drunk on campus is different alright.

i give credits for those who can stay in dorms. like... seriously.
when i think of dorm, nothing comes to mind except "jail cell".
apartment would probably be your best choice...
since u drink and stuff, u can throw house parties and invite ppl over
or just have your own privacy. smile.gif

yea these dorms that I live in are bad because we have 250 pound cops who barge around with nothing better to do than follow people around in an attempt to catch them doing something illegal that shouldn't even be illegal in the first place..
