okay well my brother downloaded this 700 mb movie, that didn't even work, and now we can't delete it of our computer, it wont let us.

here the pop up I get when I try to

IPB Image

But the thing is I don't have or know what program is running the movie. only possible thing would be areslite(where he got it from), WMP, or DIVX. But I closed it all out.

anyone know what i can do?

Additional info that might help.
-Got a Windows XP.
- I already scanned the file with Norton and no viruses were found.

thanks I'd appreciate the help

EDIT.
Problem resolved.
thanks to everyone who helped! smile.gif

that happened to me a couple of times.
if DLed from clubbox, remember to close out all clubbox-related things--
and check your task manager

i would just restart the comp. `cause it closes out all programs and try to delete it again.. but if that doesn't help.. then i wouldn't know what to do.... x.O

btw, the island was a pretty good movie ^^ i liked it.

taht happens sometimes, what i do is ctrl+alt+del and end task explorer

then click the applications tabs > new task(bottom right) > Browse...

look for the file location and right-click/delete

Now, go to new task (same tab) and type in explorer.exe

now the movie file should be in your recycling bin and empty it!

Problem:
This is the TYPICAL issue with this sort of thing. Explorer.exe causes your CPU usage to go to 100% for a long time because it tried to analyze the dimensions of it. Thus when you try to delete, you can't cause explorer.exe is using it.

Solutions:
1. If you are comfortable using DOS/Command Prompt commands., you can go into it by Run>"cmd" and delete it like that. However, before doing that, press Alt-Ctrl+Del and end the explorer.exe task. That often works for me.
2. You can go into safe-mode (restart while pressing f8 continiously and select Safe Mode.) then delete it.
3. Easiest solution, not sure if it'll work in your case. Follow this guide, and then try deleting the file.
