I was thinking about baking cookies for my friends birthday.. & giving it to him the next morning?
however, will the cookies still be soft? or will they turn hard? .. is there a way to keep them from turning hard?
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies by the way..

just take them out of the oven early... so if you're supposed to bake them for 10 minutes, bake them for 6 or something. they might look a little undercooked, but after they cool they'll still be chewy/soft

also, storing them in an airtight container might help

More brown sugar than white sugar. Brown sugar is made of molasses, therefore it'll keep the cookie moist. That or use bread flour.

store them in a ziploc bag with a couple slices of bread (or more, depending on the # of cookies)

the cookies will absorb the moisture from the bread and will stay soft. the bread will end up being hard, almost as if it was toasted.

I usually take the cookies out as soon as I see that it's ready. I don't leave them in as long as the directions say.

i suggest maybe cooking it 1-2 minutes less than directed.. but no more than that.
my friends always compliment me bout how i always make soft cookies...
all you really gotta do is to take them out right when they JUST start to brown.

Thats what i did before. worked alright. unless i just had a fluke and it was soft for some other reason.

But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true?"
Merely vague concepts...their "reality" may all be a mirage.
Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"

No wonder, something was wrong. Putting white sugar, made the cookies harder o_O
I should try adding the brown sugar and more egg biggrin.gif

I've always wanted to know this, how you keep the cookies soft.
Cause that one cookie, something with granny logo on it.. omg.. THAT COOKIE IS SUPER DELICIOUS!

I've never tried adding an extra egg but I just made another batch of cookies right now and instead of using butter or margarine or 50/50 butter I used vegetable oil and it came out like soft batches.

Other times it'd be noticeably harder by the next morning but these will certainly stay soft till the next morning. i substituted butter for 1/4 cup vegetable oil and added 1 table spoon of water to flour cookie mix that will make 18 medium sized cookies.

Also Store It in an Air-Tight container!!! That will help fur sure.

it's not necessarily a healthy way but you can use shortening.

and also, keep your batter cold before you bake it in the oven...(?)<--not sure if it does work but you can try.: )

take the cookies out a little bit earlier and once they've cooled keep it in a sealed container...should be alright that way
