I want to get a new MP3(or iPOD) but before I buy one, I wanted to know which one was better. Also like which brand was better and how is it better. I previously had a iPOD but I hate syncing my iPOD with iTunes -_________- it annoys me a lot from this. Please help me out =)
What MP3/iPOD do you have?
Do you like it? Scale from 1-10 (10 being a lot)
Would you have wanted a different one?
What are some good features?
What don't you like about it?
Thank you for your help! =)

but aisde from that ive owned.
1st gen ipod nano - hated it
pros
-small
-lightweight
cons
-itunes
-ipod nano interface
-scroll wheel
-scratches EVERYWHERE
30gig zune - liked it alot
pros
- fits great in 'my' hands
- easy to use
- lots of memory, found out i didnt need 30gig
- large screen
- built in fm radio
cons
- no asian character support
- software takes time to get used to
- doesnt act as external hard drive
- converts eveything
cowon d2 - it was ok
pros
- lightweight
- 4gb, enough memory for me
- lots of features, flash games, radio, text reader, etc
- touchscreen
- stylus = stand
cons
- touchscreen, its cool at first, but not fun to use
- boring interface (customizable though)
- the usb that it came with had problems
- i snapped the included headphones...
apple ipod touch
pros
- wifi, internet
- youtube
- touchscreen
- smooth interface
- easy to use
- no scrollwheel
cons
- touchscreen, its only cool for the first week, after that i wanted real buttons
- accelerometer, cant use it wihtout having the screen rotate all the time
- a tad bit heavy, although very slim
- a tad bit too wide
- included headphones feel really cheap
- MOST OF ALL, i never use it (but thats just me)
4gig 2nd gen flash zune - love it
pros
- lightweight
- beautiful zune interface
- beautiful software interface
- built in fm radio
- headphones have magnet, cool
- small
- scratch resistant glass screen, no need for screen protector (same with new ipod nanos i believe)
cons
- software is beautiful, but still havent used all its features
- still no asian character support
after all these players,
i realized i dont need somthing with lots of memory and tons of features.
something simple, lightweight, and has fm radio is enough for me.
thats why i love the zune 4gig flash zune.

Most other mp3 players allow you to transfer songs with the drag-and-drop feature where it's not possible to do that with an Ipod.
She says she doesn't like the syncing iTunes thing.
I've owned two iPods.
Cons of iPods: They can have a lot of annoying problems.
Pro: Recharging requires you to plug it into a USB port/computer/laptop. No need for battery replacement. Except over time the battery in the iPod will need replacement.
If you were to get a cheaper non-iPod mp3 player, I think a reliable one would be the Sony Ericcson one.
It looks quite similar to this:

The models vary from country to country I think.
The one that we have here, is like a USB stick shaped like the one above. So you simply plug it in your computer and copy mp3 files into it.

they dont come with things most mp3's have like
radio
microphone
mp3's usually are cheaper with better abilities too
i had a iriver click? it was TINY and it was only 74 dollars compared to the ipod clip on thing which was 99 dollars
the iriver had a screen, photo ability, radio, microphone
while the ipod thing had none of that
but i lost it T T
now i have the samsung p2 which i got for 50 =]
i love it
you dont have to pay for games and stuff like the ipod touch
i just think ipods are really overrated <.<

As for the players themselves, it's the only one I know that does video playlisting (i.e. having music videos play in shuffle)...my old creative didn't. Also when playing in shuffle, the iPod keeps track of what songs have played and if you leave your player alone you will be sure you heard every song at least once if that's what you want. I upgraded about a year ago to an iPod Touch (though I still have my "classic") and it builds on the features I liked about my first iPod. Someone mentioned that one of their "cons" with iPods is that they are a bit hefty...I actually like that, they don't feel cheap or flimsy.
Probably my final note is the accessory market. I like the ecosystem that has spawned around the iPod....granted many of the accessories are overpriced and rubbish, but the ones I have are very nice. At work I have a speaker dock that plays my tunes so I don't have to wear the earbuds and when I get home I can dock it to my entertainment system and watch my music videos on a bigger screen. Also, many cars (or audio systems) have ipod integration, which is great since you can control the player directly via the head unit and it charges too (Which is nice since my older ipod's batter is basically toast...but with it docked/integrated most of the time, it doens't matter). My creative player didn't have any accessories available...or were hard to come by.
Granted the iPod isn't perfect...no player is. I wished the iPod line sounded as nice as my Creative...which basically puts Apple's product in the shade when it comes to sound quality. And I wished they didn't put the stupid polished stainless steel backing that scratches the moment you stare at it. As I said at the start...it's really up to what you're searching for in a player...I said the things I've said here because the iPod suits my needs (but could be useless to someone else) and is relatively trouble free.
With that, I hope you find a player that will allow you to enjoy your digital media! (Though if you're considering an iPod...I would avoid the pointless shuffle...just my opinion)

but i think oyu just mean an ipod vs. other brands.
i have had an ipod but switched over to the samsung p2, as of right now. I really miss my ipod. i think i might get a new mp3.
its up to you. The only reason y i want an ipod again is because my p2 is only 4gb and its full even tho this is like 530 songs. its because of all the game and other applications on it. I like the ipod because it is simple and itunes is very easy to use. Since i am looking for simple yet fun to use, i might go get an itouch. waiting for the new one to come out. :]

Creative 128mb
not that many songs on, annoyed when I have to press forwards for the songs.
it didn't even have a small screan where it says what song was played.
Scale: 2
Digital Mp3 player 32 MB
couldn't have so many songs in it.
it could favorite and then throw the song in the trash.
it has a mini control.
Scale: 2.5
Creative 2GB
I love how it had the screen, I could throw the song in the trash, fav it and record my voice
Scale: 7
Ipod Classic 80 GB
Love: favorite the songs, listen and watch MV / videos
Playing games too.
hate: doesn't really like when it froze lol or when it wouldn't play the songs that I love.
the earphones could've been better
Scale: 9.5
could have been better if the lasting of batteries when watching Videos would be longer.

-everyone has one. so its easy to get fixed when its broken (easy accessibility to getting it fixed)
-its a simple mp3, easy to use
The thing not so great:
-everyone has one. so you dont feel cool because at least 15 other people in your school have one.
-as stated , no recording, radio, or bluetooth.
-crappy battery life
-iTunes. the program in general is just crappy. doesnt even update if youve ever deleted a song, it stays there until you delete it off your library.
-to recharge you cant use a plug. unless you bought that separately.
im assuming you'll buy a newer gen. one but the older gen. have some stupid bugs and freeze sometimes.
-the games were never that good either..
