Is The Class Of 2010 Unusually Competitive At Your School? Academic-wise...

Where as the rest of the grades have 2-3 really exceptional students, it's hard to tell in our class who's at the top because everyone's so competitive--even between friends. Most people are so competitive that they don't like sharing their grades or standardized test scores with their friends. And they'll purposely avoid helping people with work they don't understand because they're afraid they'll do better than them. It's kind of sad. I mean, I'm competitive too, but I don't mind helping my friends when they need it. :|
Anyways, I was just wondering if the class of 2010 is competitive at your schools too. Because I was surprised to find out in high school that the rest of the sending districts, not just mine, were like this too.

But because of all these uber competitive people, I'm not getting into college. There is about 40 people or so whose GPA is over 4.0 in my year. That is different than most years because it's such a large amount.
NJ sucks. Big Time.

all the juniors at my school are effin crazy. and most of em are mad smart
all of the kids at my school are super spirited
but even with that the juniors go all out crazy when it comes to spirit days and rallies.
maybe it just seems that way cause their class is bigger than ours.
i have noticed another thing about them though..
the girls tend to
no offense to any of you class of 10 girls out there though

live for yourself, but be willing to die for others

LOL OH MY GOSH. I've been thinking the same thing! Monkey's are supposed to be good at solving problems and are supposedly successful in any field. It's crazy. But there are also people born as rams/sheep in my grade & they're among the top students too. XD But it's a good theory hehe.

Wow! That's interesting. There's actually a few extremely bright students in the class of 09 at my school, but not many try that hard :/

LOL, I didn't realized juniors were so school-spiritually competitive XD We're actually probably the least spirited grade at our school, haha.

Basically /all/ the juniors are in Model UN club, and a bunch of them run clubs and stuff.
Plus I know a few and they're ALL hekka smart 'cause whenever I see them we talk about all the honors/AP's they took when they were a sophomoree...
Jeez, its gonna be interesting to see who's gonna be the valedictorian of them..
And I can't believe it's like this at other schools too, apparently?
Maybe it's a generation thing xD
We sophomores seem to be competitive only among the few 10-20 honors kids x]
