I want a camera that is good in quality, but under $200. I figured Canon & Sony are the best brands in that price range.

So my preferable choices are the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS and Sony Cybershot W150 Digital Camera DSC-W150/R

I'm not very good at picking out the best... soo..
Does anyone have one of those cameras? (Doesn't have to be the same color.. )
And does anyone have any examples, maybe? of how the pictures turn out?
What do you guys think?

If you compare the megapixels, they are practically the same, so picture-quality wise, I guess they would be the same. But I've heard Canon digital cameras are really worth the price. I think Canon is a better brand.

I'm a canon fan, so get the Canon one! I used to own a Sony, but Canon definitely takes better pictures. Sony is still a great brand, Canon is just better.

Oh yea, also important to note, the memory card that Canon uses to store their images (SD cards) are more commonly used than the one Sony uses (Memory Stick Duo). So if you have a laptop/camcorder/other devices that is not Sony w/an SD card slot (most devices including laptops uses SD), you can easily just insert the SD card to get your images. For the Sony, you can only use their Memory Stick Duo if you had a SONY laptop/products.

Canon ftw :] Aha, I'm a canon fan too.

I have the older version of the SD1100 which is the SD1000. I'll post up some pics for you.

Um, let me know if you want bigger pics because these might be a little tiny. :x

Get the Canon. My cousin has that camera and pictures come out really clear. Sony's okay, but in terms of picture quality, Canon wins.

I used to have the Canon camera but it's silver instead. I really, really, really love that camera. I still miss it till this day.

My niece dropped it in the pool and now I am crushed forever because I don't have my favorite camera anymore. Since I'm so broke right now, I am working hard to save money so I can go buy one for myself later this upcoming year. I've worked so hard just to get that camera but it's gone so I will have to wait a little longer to buy another one.
Once in a lifetime, please be happy!

Actually... in terms of point and shoot cameras, I believe Canon and Nikon are the better ones.
If you're debating between the Canon and Sony one, I'd pick Canon over Sony any day.

They're both great cameras, but I think Canon is the leading brand for point and shoot cameras. I've owned Sony's before but the Canon's that I got were keepers. Sony's only good for looks, and the W150 isn't even that pretty (compared to other Cybershots).

Canon is known for their shapr image quality
and I was looking at those two
cameras as well, BUT with the
Canon SD1100, many people
who have owned it, had a problem
with a 'Lens Error' always showing
up and Canon didn't do anything
about it, claiming that it was the user's
fault for the camera acting up.
So between these two cameras,
I'd say go for the Sony Cybershot W150
