One year ago, I signed up for Cablevision's internet, cable, and phone (triple play) for under $100. I get all each services for 29.95. Now the year has passed and my bill shoots up maybe 40%. Internet increased to 44.95, phone increased to 34.95, and cable increased to 52.95. So I called the cancellation department who asked my reason for cancellation and I told them that the bill is too high and I'm considering another company. She asked for my phone number and name. After looking up my information on the computer she offered internet and phone both for 29.95. In these hard times you gotta fight for your money.

It's true. I threatened my cable provider (RCN) a few months ago that I would cancel because of the prices and they took off about $20 off my bill/mo as well. (:

Wow, that's ridiculous D: I guess I should warn my parents about it if our bill ever increases. My mom went through a period of switching from company to company cause our bill got too high and now we're using Direct TV and Cable internet :|

I got this discount too by threatening to cancel, only it was to a telephone carrier. I am happy that I could, but kind of mad how some customers pay less than others as a result of doing this. I mean I paid that account full price for 8 years, I threaten to leave because it costs too much and they took more than $15 off per month!!!
