What Time Do You Get Off Work?

Couple of nights ago, I had dinner with some friends and we were discussing on work life balance... for me, I normally leave the office at about 6pm... my friends kinda finish work really late like 10pm without any overtime claims and starts work again at 8am the next day. Some of them work throughout the weekend as well. So its basically, work, chores, eat, bathe and sleep and then the whole cycle repeats again everyday. They hardly get to go for games or entertainment.

What time do you finish work? Is it me or am I 'lucky' to be able to leave work early? Or are they the 'unfortunate' few?

you are very lucky to get to leave work that early! i get out around midnight and if im lucky around 11pm

I work from 8-5... a lot of the times I finish my work early so my boss just tells me to go home. He still pays me the full amount. Even on holidays when i'm not working...

8 to 5 Gal here...

But there are times i wish i wennt in at 5am so i can have to free time. By the time i get home its 6pm and the day is practically over!

8:30 to 5 monday through thursday with 1 hour lunch, 8:30 to 4 on fridays with 1 hour lunch, salary pay for 40 full hours. I average about 36.5 hours a week =).

I also get off early the day before a vacation/holiday, 2pm or 3pm depending on the holiday.

I get to work around 9:30 and leave at around 6.

You mean what time do I get off my life? I always work...it sucks.

I easily put in 60-80 hours a week and University...

im a waitress so my hours are short =D
usually work nights from 5 to 11
if i need the hours or need money i work double shifts.. from 10:30 to 3 or 4 and then get a 2 hour lunch come back around 6 to close

I usually get to work by 8 a.m. and leave around 5. Occasionally I'm up against a deadline, and then I'll stay until the work is done.

i normally leave around 2:45-3pm( I start about 6ish), half days before holidays...I miss my 5am schedule =P

work starts at 8:30 to 6:30 pm..but we usually leave at 10pm but we were compensated for that...

I work at home. This means, when I wake up, I'm already "at the office". LOL

Some days I literally get up, work, eat, work, eat, work, sleep. So I don't even have to leave the house or get out of my pajamas.

looks like its pretty norm to go off work at 5-ish to 6-ish! Shall tell my friends to get a life or get compensated... (: So, what do you do after work? Do you hangout with you colleagues or spend quality time at home?

I dont have a set schedule.

I didnt realize so many people have set schedules lol...

Well Usually I work the closing shift. Its very rare that I work the opening or come in during the middle and leave before closing.

2moro I work the closing shift so I get off at 7pm. Work from 1:30 to 7. Not bad.

Whenever the park closes thats when I usually get off.

Start 8.30am and finish about 6.00pm. If a project deadline is fast approaching and nowhere near finished then I have no choice but to stay and do an overnighter with other colleagues, its a great laugh though.
