I'm getting letters from the colleges that they recieved my apps but how long does it take for them to send their acceptance or rejection letters?

state schools usually respond earlier since they're on rolling admissions [or maybe that's just New York]
rolling admissions is the school making their decisions as the applications come in and so they dont consider every single applicant when they make their decision.
most private schools send out their decisions late March/early April. good luck!

Ohh I see. So let's say the school starts sending their letters in the beginning of April.. When's the latest they will get to you? What if you ask them to email you their decision? Will that be emailed at around the same time..?
if the school says they will send letters on april 1st, you will most likely get it that WEEK. if you can check your status online, you can check it that DAY.
