Like the title, what would you do if public transportation weren't running? Like, no buses, taxis, subways.

How would you get to work/school? Especially if it's like, an hour away by walking.

Just curious cuz the buses are on strike in my city and it's so difficult to travel without them, lol. If there's no ride, have to walk everywhere, which sucks especially cuz it's so cold here since it's winter. ;____;

Oh! And have you ever experienced what it's like to have the public transportation on strike and have to walk or find a way to get somewhere? Share your experience! xD

Today: I had to walk to the mall cuz I had volunteer work, but it's an hour away from my home so yup, had to walk for an hour. It wasn't that bad if it weren't for the snow. It was snowing hard and was really windy the entire time and I got like, a hat made of snow on my head, lol. Snow was blowing in my face too. Sooo cold. ><

But public transport (or lack of) wouldn't really hurt me as much because I drive everywhere. I've probably used public transport less than 10 times in my life (excluding plane rides).

Well.. It doesn't snow in Florida so I'll ride my bike if the transportation is down :/
But I also don't mind walking when it's winter. It feels good at times to walk : D

If the public transportation goes on strike we usually have no work or school on that day.
Even if we do I don't leave the house. LOL (I mean what if I can't get home? I don't expect my dad to pick me up from school which is almost half an hour away by car -__-)

they have a pretty good reason to strike tbh but it sooo annoying.

i can barely get to work on time. unfortunately I walk to ridgemont anyways soooo.... no reason to be late to school hahaha.

oh and eww it would take forever for me to walk to st.laurent. I work at billings bridge and I refuse to walk there ahahaha.

Wow you fought with the snow! I enjoy walking....power-walking is my speed. I try my best to walk to anywhere I can get if it's not too far (like if it's not across the river...or at the other end....like 5 miles away). The most, I've walked for 4 hours before....just for leisure.

I wouldnt be able to get to school. My school is extremly far away. it'll take the whole morning into afternoon to get to school

I dont mind the mall since its only 4-5 blocks away
At least my mom+dad & other family members can drive me around!
but since theres no public transportation... i think the traffic is going to be very heavy

I would honestly layer myself as much as I could and not care how ridiculous I looked as long as I stayed warm while I was outside. You should bring an ipod and drink some hot chocolate or anything warm while you're walking too so you don't focus on how cold it is! Definitely try to carpool if you can too, if that's an option.

First I would dress myself very warmly then get a bike (buy it or something) and ride myself to school/work.

OH MAN, theres a strike happening right now in my City...Ottawa...
I feel like the whole citys going mad.. Good thing schools done for me, im just SO bored to death sitting at home since i dont have my G2..
the roads are actually super jammed up anyways =/ and since its cold, its just hard to walk anywhere...

he said it was crazy and that they almost beat up the guy but instead called the police. ://

they block each car for a few minutes usually but this guy decided to hit one of them instead of just swear @ them.

Well... I don't use the bus so ... no problem in that. In fact, I seldom use public transportations; I always either get a ride or bike! So not much change except for maybe traffic.
