I just bought a Buffalo Hard drive USB. At first it worked for my laptop and I was able to put some files in it but, somehow when I try to put other stuff in the second time, my laptop identify a USB port plugged in but can't read it. And when I tried it on my PC, it worked fine. Is it the hard drive or my laptop? What should I do? return it? how can I fix it? please help.

did you try a different USB port? does the laptop recognise the USB device as a hard drive? if it worked on your laptop before and works on your PC now, then its most likely a problem with your laptop.
