Ok so I hear some of my friends say their parents beat them and supposedly asian parents "do that". personally, my parents have beat me with something since i was a kid whenever i was wrong. now that i'm older, they mostly just slap me or threaten me. i don't think it's right. just want to know.. have your parents ever beat you?

But I don't think they ever BEAT me, just discipline.
It's not that asian parents just "do that"...
They just want to discipline most of the time, only the bad parents BEAT.

My parents didn't beat me when I was younger. Only a little slap on the face. Well once, my father came home really angry and almost broke my hand off with a bat. He's an ass, but I still love my mom.

Parents who don't know how to control their kids rely on actual beating. Punches, jabs, round house kicks, etc. Ya know, lots of bloodshed.

Well I'm white and my mum used to 'beat' me when I was little, and my dad would hit me occasionally, but now that I'm older it's usually just yelling and maybe a slap. (but I think my mum worries that I'll slap her back, which I wouldn't haha)

I did grow up in a pretty violent atmosphere when I still lived at home. That's probably why I'm kind of timid and shy and paranoid today. It was mostly my parents hitting each other, though

my dad would probably threaten me with like putting his hand up like he's gonna slap me. but, that's rare cause it's super rare if i get him mad lol. my mom, used to pull my diaper down and slap me in the butt when i was small but when she's super pissed she'll probably act like she's gonna slap me too.

I don't think I was actually beaten, I just got hit by a belt (never the buckle) or slapped if I was 'bad'. LOL
My parents just get mad now.

I think I got it the worst out of all of you guys. My dad hit me ever since grade 2. Beatings usually included wooden sticks, belts, and a metal stick which eventually broke in a beating he gave me. This went on all the way until I got into grade 8 which was when he passed away.

'Beat' can mean many things, from a slap on the ass or the hands to getting seriously physically assualted and injured. Without knowing what exactly you mean it's hard to tell. If you're living in constant fear of your parents or have experienced recent injuries talk to your school councellor. If not, be careful with whom you discuss the matter because in some parts of the west some teachers and social workers think that making a point is more important than your family relations. If they're using methods of punishment that are really bothering you or you think are just much too severe tell your parents you'd like to have a talk with them about it, try to come to an understanding about what are reasonable rules and consequences for breaking them, and then give your 100% to upholding your end of the bargain.

What kinds of things are they beating you for? Doing drugs? Getting a B? Coming in at 2AM? Looking at them the wrong way?

Yea they gangbeat me on a regular basis, its horrible. They call their buddies out from their trailer park houses and act like they all tuff nd mini cooper.

except one time i kept refusing to cut my hair, my dad tried to throw me down the stairs.

Wow some parents are scary... I've never been beaten by my parents. If I did anything wrong they'll just give me advices and lectures and I'll listen to them. Mom had threatened me several times though when I was a kid, saying something like, "There a long stick outside, so if you don't behave..." LOL.

Never did, never will. But a lot of my friends get hit at home, and I don't know what to do.
It's not.. really bad, but it's not good either.
