does anyone know of any american mobile networks which are sim based and are fairly cheap to make outgoing international calls/texts?

i'm going to america for a few days and i can't live without my phone so have to contact the uk somehow but its more expensive using my uk number.

i found this one, but i'm not sure if it's dodgy?

T-mobile and At&t are the only sim based ones in the US
You can go to the store here and buy a prepaid kit to get a sim car if you're only using it temporarily.
I don't know how they are on international calls though, try checking their websites.

Go buy a prepaid sim card for your cell phone and use a calling card.
