i used to be in Concert band for 3 years in middle school & was always 1st/2nd chair Flute.
i was too lazy to get into marching band in HS because they cant sit and have a zero period ):

I was in marching band. Piccolo for 2 years and sousaphone for 2. My best memories of high school were of marching band and the goofing off that went with it.

my school sucks so we move every instrument everytime we practice in the field
the practices run late

I'm in marching band! I'm in my first year as a sophomore.

We begin to practice our music in March and after school ends, we have a mini band camp for incoming freshmen. Then at the start of August, we have our two week band camp for 7 hours each day. When school starts, we practice 11-16 hours a week depending on whether you have 1st or 2nd period band or not. The competition season starts early to mid October to late November.

Oh yeah, I play baritone.

Marching Band!!
I love it, football games, parades, competitions, playing!!

I'm a junior and this is my second year in marching band. Section Leader!! I didn't join freshman year because I was actually scared.
I play flute for marching band. This will be my 6th year playing.
Playing tenor sax for Jazz band.
Our band is a high stepping band (show band?) but we are slowly changing to a core style band.

During the summer we practice from 6-noon for a little over half a month on weekdays.
Then during football season we have practice after school until 6:30 on all school days but game days. If we need we may go in one day a weekend but most times we don't. I think there is a 8 hour limit on practice times or we can't perform, UIL rules. Then we work on concert for the next 2-3 months then return to marching and getting ready for parades for MARDI GRAS!! We are practicing three time a week right now, but it may change to everyday of the week.

Hey,
I'm a senior and I've been in my high school's marching band for all four years
I've played snare drum all 4 years and i'm the drumline section leader.
It starts two weeks before school and our competitive season ends in novemeber.
I'm really sad it was my last year because I loved it so much =[ but it's ok cuz this year we did "the planets" and it was awesome!

I really hate marching.

I was only in Marching Band during my Freshman year.. I had to quit because my parents didn't want to pay for band camp :[
It was kind of harsh because our marching band kind of sucked and our director was a lazy piece of asdlfjalsdjflsdf.
But yeah.. I played Flute :]

I was in marching band with the guard. I did all four years of high school and loved every season. If I knew how to play an instrument, I would have loved to join drumline or the pit.
