QUOTE
Courtship is the traditional dating period before engagement and marriage. During a courtship, a couple dates to get to know each other and decide if there will be an engagement. Usually courtship is a public affair, done in public and with family approval.

It includes activities such as dating where couple go together for a dinner, a movie, dance parties, a picnic, shopping or general "hanging out", along with other forms of activity. Acts such as meeting on the internet or virtual dating, chatting on-line, sending text messages or picture messages, conversing over the telephone, writing each other letters, and sending each other flowers, songs, and gifts constitute wooing.

example:i'm taking my girl to the drive in and the milk bar during our courtship. Then maybe if i play my cards right, she might lift her peticoat and show me her knees.

It means she's old-skool. Don't bother. She'll probably expect shining armor and a white, fully paid off decked-out modified horse. Who needs cars? That's not romantic at all.

it means doing things that will get the other person to fall for you

she's pretty much asking you to chase her.

It definitely shows that she is traditional. She'll expect chivalry -- guy pay on the first date, open the doors for her, pull out her seat, etc. To what extent she expects that continue, I don't know. However, you'll have to be very gentlemanly to make a good first impression.

Agreed on the EXTREMELY OLD TERM used. That's something my parents would say.... the only difference I would say between courtship and dating would be that courtship is more likely to lead to marriage? Of course, no one uses it so... she might just be really old fashioned.

I don't know, I'm just really confused about those terms.
I guess what I've been doing hasn't been enough?
I'll find out I guess.

TY all for your input, additional ones would also be great.

It means she's desperate and has lost her patience to wait.

BAH! It does not mean she's old school. I'm WAY new age, let me tell ya, and I would love to be wooed/courted.

It simply means, grow some balls and be a man. Ask her out, take her out on a date, and if you have ANY skill, you can try to sweep her off her feet!

Which isn't hard to do. Especially if you're funnie, sweeping a girl off her feet should be cake!

lol. some of these replies posted are weird O_O

Courting or wooing is basically the girl asking you to do sweet things for her. Acts of chivalry. ex: opening doors for her. Going out to movies with her. She just wants some time to hang out w/ you. And, if you truly do like her, you would want to do those things for her. If she's sick, she would want a phone call.

And some of the replies that ppl have made on this thread is really rude. If she's really worth it, you would WANT to give her high maintenance. You should NEVER feel burdened in a meaningful relationship.
If you really do like her, you wouldn't MIND opening the door for her. Or paying for a meal. Or holding an umbrella over her head.

Are you a girl? I can see why you would think that.
