i am DYINGG to loose weight.

last year, i think i lost a few lbs by cutting the junkfood and soda and all.
i ate "healthy" meaning no candy, soda, chips, instant food, and alot more.
it became a habit and it was quite easy to eat 2 meals a day (i always ate 2 meals but i just had alot of unnecessary junk food.)
i didnt quite workout but i went to play sports for like 2-4 times afterschool in a week?

then this year, i dont know. i gained weight out of nowhere.
i started to eat unhealthy again but not really.
i still dont eat candy and chips and drink soda. but i started to eat cup noodles again.
not good but cant do much when school food sucks, got morning class and just got nothign to eat at home.
sighh.. im going crazy especially when every girl i hang out with is like.. thin. and i feel veryy
bad around them.

im thinking about going on a carb diet. how does it work?
anyone got any tips?

im like 5'1 and over average weight by some. doctor told me so its not just me being paranoid.

i feel especially bad since im going to turn 16 in less then 3 weeks and im still going to look like a fat b_tch.
i thought about wearing something special but im too embarressed.
i thought about alot of outfits but said no to like everything cause i just feel so ugly uncomfortable.

EDIT.
ohkay. now people are starting to get nasty on me.
i never said i wanted to lose it within 3 weeks. i just said lose weight. no need to give me attitude.
if all your gonna say is cut off your leg, i'd ratherd you not reply at all.

thank you to those who actually said something helpful or at least tried.i dont like to be mean but i dont think people are getting what im trying to say and just going (^&%@!%^#(%*(^ on me and i dont appreciate that. im asking for tips, or like if anyone went through a successful weight loss.

OOOOH!! && i forgot to mention a bigggggggg problem.
i have severe asthma.

Bad news: there's no healthy way to lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks if that's what you're trying for.

The sudden weight gain might be a hormonal thing as hormones tend to go a little wild during the teenage years. However, I would try working out and eating correctly before seeking advice from a doctor about the possibility of a hormonal cause. The situation might resolve itself naturally. I encourage working out. Losing weight might be slow going while working out, but it instills healthier habits in my opinion. Get a membership at the gym and go every single day for an hour to two hours doing a variety of exercises. If anything, it'll make you feel better and healthier because of the endorphins it generates.

I would suggest a way but it takes a lot of will power, it's also not that healthy and you'll gain it right back afterwards.
so I won't tell you. haha

the healthiest way is to change your lifestyle and the way you eat, exercise etc
and it's healthier to lose 1-2 pounds a week.

it's always better to lose weight slowly, you're less likely to gain it all back. with that said, if you're really desperate...

cutting out as many carbs as you can and only eating what you need from every other food group (esp fibrous veggies) will probably lead to a significant amount of weight loss. exercise will lose even more weight -- but you will be more tired and hungry and your body will crave food. depends how well your self-control works. ^^; if you can reduce your intake to ~800-1000 calories and burn twice as much as that in a day, you're in a calorie deficit of 1000 calories. 3500 calories = 1 lb, so in the end how fast you lose the weight depends on how many calories you eat vs how many you burn. if the difference is bigger you'll lose weight faster.

also reduce the amount of salt you intake (aka no instant noodles xD). the kidneys make adjustments for sodium consumption; the more salt you eat, the more water your body will retain --> extra water weight.

good luck!

For the next three weeks or so, until your birthday, if you stick with eating healthy and exercising as much as you did before or more, you might be able to lose a few pounds. These three weeks might get you to become slightly slimmer/toned so you will "feel" better about the way you look.

Try to eat slightly bigger meals for breakfast and lunch, but a little less for dinner? Don't eat after 7-8pm.

its unrealistic to lose 20lbs in three weeks unless its an unhealthy way which means you would gain it all back once you stop whatever you are doing plus you would have some health problems after it too.

the best way is really to get off your butt (its not to insult you), you need alot of willpower and determination in order to effectively lose weight and keep it off.

first off you need to do cardio and cut your calorie in take and eat healthy. cup noodles is VERY bad for you. especially with that MSG. its empty carbs in my opinion. it doesnt give you any energy and it weights you down. and some weight training to develop muscles that uses more calories than fat.

if you are worried about being hungry or need a snack, i suggest mixed nuts, soy chips (theres so many flavors), rice cakes (again soo many flavors) and you need to switch to water or 100% juice.

spicy food actually speeds up metabolism so you can eat a bunch of spicy food. try kimchi at dinner.

if you think plain water is too tasteless then you can add a lemon juice in it for a slight tangy flavor. its pretty good in my opinion. i m a bit of a health nut.

its seriously unrealistic to not workout and expect to lose weight in a healthy way. working out makes you sleep better and handle stress better. you could actually have better skin if you work out daily. you would feel better about yourself too because while you are working out, your brain actually produces a certain chemical that makes you feel happy.

if you really research weight loss, they would all tell you to eat healthy and exercise. you can try crazy diets or celeb diets but the truth about them is you might lose weight but you would gain it all back once you stop the diet and the celeb diets, i think most of them lie and have personal trainers that they work out with. working out is really fun.

sorry for the long post. you are really young. dont screw up your health trying to lose so much weight in such a short period of time. weight loss is a progression. it takes time. make realistic goals for yourself.

I would also like to add intense dieting can actually slow down your metabolism so you will be more likely to gain weight after you stop your dieting regime and it will be harder for you to then lose that weight. My cousin was anorexic for a while in her teens and she lost her period because of it. This is very serious as her body will start exhibiting menopausal symptoms like osteoporosis. As a result, her family is now trying to induce her body to begin having periods, but the result is she's pumped full of hormones all the time. The side effects of hormones is intense weight gain. There are very intense consequences of unhealthy dieting.

Exercise is more important than cutting junk food. Of course, the combination of the two is beneficial to your goal.

However I think the problem here is your lack of self confidence, not your weight. Find out what is causing you to be so hard on yourself (and no, I promise you it's not your weight.)

Fastest way to lose 20 pounds:

Get your ass off soompi
Take a walk or jog for an hour a day
Stop taking the bus for 2 stops.
Walk, walk, walk, walk. Go to shopping destinations and just walk.

DID I MENTION WALKING?

Crunches
Yoga
Swimming laps non stop
Training with weights - turn that flab into muscle
Join a gym
Play an instrument that requires you to be on your feet instead of on your bum.
Take up karate
Stretch whenever you have free time -- like RIGHT NOW.
Bike. Roller skate. Roller blade. Ice skate.

DANCE! DANCE DANCE! DDR if you have to.

Stop believing in diet pills. YOU are in control.
Self motivation every morning when you wake up and when you go to sleep.

"I am in control of my weight. I can do it because I want to get healthy, not because I think I'm unworthy. I am perfect the way I am."

most importantly: Stop worrying about what other people think and focus on a regime of exercise that works for you. Even if it's just getting outside and walking for half an hour a day and working up from that. Don't aim for something so exact (20 lbs in 3 weeks OMGIAMDYINGTODOTHISLOLERCATZ). There is such thing as doing everything in moderation.

30-45 minutes on the treadmill gradually building speed and varying it
Just be constantly on the move even when you're not in the gym (walk outside, play outside)
Eat 5 very little meals a day (fruits, protein shakes, low carbs low cal)

Yea, that should do it. It's difficult, but if you do it correctly, you could possibly lose 20 pounds. And try to incorporate weight training to build some muscle (high reps high sets to increase metabolism and get toned)

i dont know how to healthily lose 20 lbs that fast, but seriously, don't worry about it too much. you're only 16. like rachilde said, its the hormones. people have different rates of hormones affecting weight. some people drop the baby fat faster, some more slowly. plus, people have different body types.

i freaked out about being "chubby" when i was 16-18, but when i turned 19 i lost weight pretty easily by just exercising moderately. i didnt lose that much weight but i just looked trimmer. my mom says it happens, and i trust her lol. i saw pictures when she was 17, and then a picture when she was like 23 or something. she said at 17 she was like 117 lbs, but when she was 23 she was 98 lbs.

if you really want to lose weight i would go with what the people said above. 1 lb of fat is 3500 calories, so to lose a pound per week you'd have to create a caloric deficit of 3500 calories. so you could exercise an extra 500 calories 7 days a week or cut out 500 calories of what you normally eat, or a combination. just don't go overboard and set extreme goals, because you'll only disappoint yourself.

i know a family friend who lost alot of wieght just by changing eating habits.
she ate 3 meals a day, big breakfast, smaller lunch, and a small dinner. and she'll only eat to the point where she wouldn't get hungry, not eat till she was full. and of course eating healthy.

i heard that the lemon detox helps you lose weight quickly but you'll gain the weight back again quickly.
Well, that's what I heard from my PE teacher. :S
So, I guess doing the lemon detox a week before your bday?

Lipo or your handy-dandy toothbrush.

HAHA! just kidding, couldn't help myself. Seriously though, is it that hard to find a work out routine? Be patient, lbs don't go away that fast. Eat healthy, you'll mostlikely end up gaining more weight if you keep stressing about it.

Hey, how about growing taller? There are 100 over stretching exercises that if you constantly do everyday, it might raise your height abit...then your weight would not matter that much.

Anyway there was this diet tip which my friend read if from a magazine. Its about having apples and water ONLY for 3 days straight and your weight will drop. Well, it worked on my friend, she dropped about 3kg~4kg(I'm not sure) but she gained it back because she was hungry.. You may want to try it, but I don't think the weight loss is permanent. Good luck. :3

you say you're embarrassed because you don't want to look like a fat pinkberry when you turn 16?

i don't know what i'm more horrified by,
how much you resent yourself
or how much society has taught you to feel like you're a fat pinkberry

you can't lose 20 lbs in 3 weeks but if you want to lose weight and keep it off
it needs to be a basic lifestyle change, as in change your diet for good.

that or at least wait until you're 20 to know that your body has stabilized, not only physically but so that you're also a bit more logical about your self-esteem
