Mods, please delete if there's already a post like this. Thank you. (:

So, I got proactiv for my 15th birthday.
I thought I didn't trust this product when I saw it on the commercial.
So that night on my birthday, I tried it on.
The next morning, I can tell a few was gone and a few was still there.

How do you feel about proactiv?
How long did it took you to clear your skin so smooth and clean?
Was there another zit-clearing trick that you tried and it work? If so, how do you do it?

Oh, and I also heard on this other thread that if you dab lemon on your face it gets clearer and a bit whiter.
And alsooo, if you have a big zit that you can't get rid of, you put toothpaste (any kind) on your big-problem-zit.
Is that true?

Man, zits are weird. blink.gif

Have you tried using the search function? You should get plenty of results when you search for Proactiv.

Personally I've been using it since June. I didn't have terrible acne but it got bad at times (I would get some huge pimples on my cheeks that would take forever to heal and would leave behind scars). I immediately saw results within the next couple weeks. Scars faded after I used the skin lightening lotion and now I swear I've only gotten one or two pimples since I started using Proactiv. I don't use it as often as I used to (I'm trying to slowly take myself off of it because I don't break out anymore and that stuff is expensive).

Overall I'm really satisfied with it. My skin did get really dry at first, so I stopped using the oil control stuff and that helped a lot. I also used the green tea moisturizer. My skin still isn't perfect; I still have scarring left over, but it's definitely a lot better than it used to be and I don't break out anymore. A lot of people have told me that skin looks a lot cleaner and whiter.

Hope that helps. smile.gif
Life is friggin' fantastic.

I stopped using it after three weeks because my face was so dry, it was flaking >>;
The repairing lotion really makes your skin nice and smooth... but my face didn't clear up as much as I wanted it to ;o;

Honestly, I don't like this product much, but only because it made my face worse than it already was. It worked a little in the beginning but after 3 months it started to get bad, and it just stopped working. Truthfully, it only works for some people and results vary; if you're lucky enough to be one of those people that's fantastic, because I've heard it can really make a difference on some people.

As for the toothpaste trick, I use this whenever I get a zit. I leave it on over night and it dries it out. It clears up faster for me this way.

Lke everyone's been saying, it depends on the person. My acne has been driving me nuts so, i've decided to buy the two months proactive since they were only there ( Hey! I was desperate T.T). I used at night and woked up in the morning with my face itching like CRAZY!!! I have REALLY sensative skin). My face swelled up like a big puffy balloon (Not funny T.T). Had to leave school and get a shot/medicine. Never ever will trust ads anymore.....

It depends on the persons skin. Proactiv didn't work for me at all , but the refining mask worked pretty well for me I guess.

I've been using ProActiv since this summer. The results satisfied me.
Minimize your use if your skin begins to flake or dry out. You will definately need a good moisturizer. I suggest using ProActiv's Green Tea Moisturizer, although I didn't use their brand of moisturizer.
Example: Wash face w/ ProActiv one day, skip next day. Repeat for a week or two.
(Your moisturizer is your BFF)
Once your face has gotten used to ProActiv, you will be able to use it everyday without skipping a day.

I do not use ProActiv 2 times a day. I use it once, which is in the morning's.

My Routine
Morning
Aveeno Cleanser
Aveeno Moisturizer

Night
ProActiv Cleanser
Step 2, Oil control, Step 3 and Aveeno Moisturizer.

I love the sulfur refining mask. I use the mask every 1-2 weeks.
Night
ProActiv Cleanser
Sulfur Mask
Step 2, Oil control, Step 3 and Aveeno Moisturizer.

My face has hyperpigmented scars left but, I'm using ProActiv Lightening cream to get rid of it.
The results will vary from person to person. Take a chance and try it if you wish :)

it works great but your skin starts to get dependent on it, so once you stop using it, your skin goes bazerk. Resulting in you buying another kit of proactiv, which is wicked expensive, and then you can't stop using it because you're skin is so dependent on it. and then you buy more and more and more. . .

i honestly think that your skin will get better itself, i mean most 15 years olds (i speak from experience) do not have crystal clear perfect skin.
i think when i was your age, i was basically a crater face (i got teased alot, kids are cruel dry.gif ), using proactiv definitely helped alot more than the other products. but all in all, i didnt even finish using the bottles when began to perceive my skin as being "ok" i do give credit to the products, but i give more credit to time.

now adays im so freakn lazy i dont use anything on my skin, (thats like an extra 10 minutes in the bathroom) (rolls my eyes as if i'm a slob)
but just remember to wash your face with water day night and if you plays sports after that, but not excessively (e.g 10x a day), and drink heaps of it.

oh and the tooth paste thingo, please do not try it, your face will smell really gross and in my case, it definitely was a pretty crap idea, pimples get worse, agitation etc.
instead, grind 2 tablets of aspirin in a few drops of water and massage it into problem regions then leave as a mask all over face and leave to settle before washing.

ohh i tried it..
Im also 15 years old and i use it for the first time, it burns my face mad it red...
i didnt care so i kept using it, then it got better biggrin.gif, the burning sensation went away and the redness went away

my pimples, were also going down....
BUT BUT
after i finish the bottle i stopped for about 2 weeks, then all my pimples came back, omg it was bad...

bad thing about proavtive, that if your stop all your pimples come back, also that it works at first then it stops working

also its bad, i went to go to a shesiedo cosemetics place to purchase whiterning to get rid of my acne scre, they told me to stop with proactive.... becaurse its dries your face very bad( and thats very true)
the lady said you got no oil on your face, and your ph lvl is not what is suppose to be....

so i didnt listen meh im still using proactive and it works ok...
but like you have to keep using on and on

it didn't really work on me
neither on my brother.
Proactiv made my skin dry.
now I treat my acne with some
sulfur soap then moisturized it
after with Cetaphil.

okay, i used to use proactiv before. At first i loved it because after like 2 months, my acne got from really bad to absolutely clear skin. But after that it seems like it doesn't work anymore, so i stopped. Now i don't get much pimples but maybe like 2 or 3. Just cleaning it with Olay cleanser and moisturize.

I tried it for a week, my skin was so dry from Proactiv's harsh chemicals.
It didn't get rid of pimples as well.

It works really well for me, but it also depends on your skin type. You HAVE to (HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO) ALWAYS moisturize after, and eventually, your skin get accustomed to it and you should be fine. I've been using it since September and it's working really well. It's almost all gone for me.

And, try to switch to a natural product as soon as possible after your skin has cleared up.
