but i've never had a problem.......freaking door handle wont open, well i pour some warm water and wahlah....it opens.......someone who saw me doing it said it was a bad idea cause the water can instantly re-freeze, but i'm think, this water's like 70 degrees, it's not going to refreeze within the 2 seconds i try to open the door right after i pour it........
also i heard pouring hot water on your glasses gives it a tendency to shatter?? it's not like i pour the hot water and then take a hammer to it.

If it's the absolute only way then ok
BUT!!!
The drastic temp. change on what you pour water on will end up cracking them even without said hammer
Glass, for example, is one of the several parts on the car that I highly suggest not using that method on
The same thing happens on hot days and you put cold water on it.
I'd recommend getting de-icer in the small cans

it was with a really old rather infelicitous car though so i didn't care. and i only did it because i was usually in a rush to get to class. waiting for the old beast to defrost the windows safely would take like 20 minutes. so yeah, i didn't really have that much time.
i only did the warm/hot water on the front window, though. then i roll the windows down and drive like that. lol. i've never had to use it on a door handle though.. haha

Might be a bit of a pain and take an extra couple minutes, but at least your windows won't shatter.

The real reason you should not do it is because your door froze shut because water is getting in somewhere and if you pour water on it you may be able to open it in that instant but there is a good chance that more water got in and it will refreeze while you are driving. If you are going to go this route do not use water, use rubbing alcohol. It takes negative 200 degrees to freeze rubbing alcohol.

If you use regular water, would it just freeze up..?
Use De-icer stuff.

plus let your car warm up and the heat from the engine should start melting the snow on your hood.

LOL!!!! you really do learn from pokemon. and yes it is bad. don't do it. you're suppose to just pour water on it. not warm water or hot.
when you feel like you don't deserve them."

i was at work and got off at 1:30am
the night cleaners came in while i went to my car
key wont budge, it doesnt even go in completely
i ask one of them to help me out
you know what he did?
he gave my car's keyhole a blow job
...................
blew in about 6-7 times with hot breath air
and the key went in and turned
try that if you're ever stuck with no other options.
