With the end of 2008 around the corner, it’s time to start reminiscing about the celebrity plastic surgery stories of the year and what better way than to start with the top 10 most famous noses that were reshaped by the knife in 2008. Although Make Me Heal has no way of clocking when the nose jobs on our Top 10 List actually took place, the list includes nose job (rhinoplasty) stories that we broke during 2008.
For our list, we chose not only the most notorious nose jobs, but the ones that were least known, in some cases for years, until Make Me Heal outed the celebrities. The following nose jobs helped launch the careers of some of the most popular current celebrities.
1. Tyra Banks
Best known as one of the great supermodels of all time, 34-year old Tyra Banks has never come out about the nose job she had early in her career. In a high school photo, Tyra’s nose is wide and round. Her current nose, the nose that made her a household name around the world, is much more narrow and defined along the bridge and significantly less rounded at the tip. The job was conservative and helped enhance Tyra’s natural beauty and did not alter her appearance unrecognizable, making it a job well done.
2. Zac Efron
21-year old Zac Efron rose to fame as the teeny-bopper dreamboat of the popular Disney franchise High School Musical. But while his co-star, Ashley Tisdale, notoriously underwent a rhinoplasty last year, Zac has kept silent about his own nose job. Zac’s old old nose was bigger and his new nose is smaller and more in keeping with his delicate features. Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston tells Make Me Heal, “While his facial architecture has changed as he has matured it appears that his nasal tip cartilages have been made smaller and the width of his nasal bones is narrower. He is handsome and his nose fits his face.”

3. Blake Lively
Before she made it as a Gossip Girl, and after she caught the public’s eye as the pretty girl in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, 21-year old Blake Lively had a very well-done rhinoplasty. Blake Lively underwent a very successful rhinoplasty, making her nose appear much thinner and cuter with a narrower nasal tip, but without the perfectly pert appearance that makes many nose jobs so obvious. Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif also weighs in with Make Me Heal, “Comparing the two photos of this young lady, it does appear that Blake Lively’s nasal tip has been narrowed. From this oblique view of her nose, it does appear that her nasal profile is slimmer and her tip doesn’t hang so much. Her tip appears much improved and more aesthetically appealing to match her face.”
4. Vanessa Williams
45-year old Vanessa Williams has openly admitted to using Botox, but the former beauty queen has never come clean about the likely nose job that took her career to new heights. Early pictures of Vanessa during her brief reign as Miss America and in her controversial pictures for Penthouse magazine, show Vanessa with a wider nose than she currently has, leading Make Me Heal to believe that Vanessa had a nose job at some point in her career. The result is beautiful, her nose is much slimmer at the end, making her nostrils appear much less flared.
5. Megan Fox
In between filming Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen with co-star Lindsay Lohan and becoming a household name in the blockbuster film Transformers, 22-year old Megan Fox found the time to have a conservative nose job. With a couple of bumps holding her back from perfection, Megan underwent a rhinoplasty to remove the bumps and achieved a flawless face in the process.
6. Patrick Dempsey
A child star turned grown-up hottie,42-year old Patrick Dempsey took time off from being on film to transform his nose in time for a comeback. As the love interest on the hit television show Gray’s Anatomy, Patrick’s nose is not perfectly straight, but it is considerably smaller than when he starred in romantic comedies back in the 1980’s.
7. Kelly Rowland
Former Destiny’s Child singer 27-year old Kelly Rowland notoriously had a breast augmentation, but what many fans don’t know is that she also had a rhinoplasty further in the past. Kelly had a nose job before which slimmed down her nose, narrowed the bridge, and resulted in a tip that is smaller and more projected out. Her new nose is small and her new breasts are large, making her more stunning than ever.
8. Selita Ebanks
Victoria’s Secret Model 25-year old Selita Ebanks is one of many models who had a nose job to help enhance her career. Her nose was narrowed and the tip shortened to help lessen the appearance of flared nostrils. Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif says, “Definitely had a rhinoplasty. It looks good. The tip and the nostrils have been narrowed. The dorsum [ridge] of the nose is also narrower. It’s natural and not to small.”
9. Kristin Cavallari
Before there was Heidi Montag, 21-year old Kristin Cavallari was there to be the frenemy of The Hills star Lauren Conrad. Although Kristin’s nose was always small, it does seem to be more perfect recently, missing a bump and being slightly more narrow than previously. Kristin’s conservative nose job was well-done, but it doesn’t seem to have enhanced her career. According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, “It does look like Kristin Cavalleri had a slight hump removal and a minor narrowing of her nostrils. If it was performed, it looks very natural and she looks great.”
10. Mila Kunis
Best known for her role on That 70’s Show, 25-year old Mila more recently resurfaced as the love interest in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where Make Me Heal noticed her nose looks a little different. It seems that Mila had a nose job at some point to help rectify the somewhat bulbous tip at the end of her nose. Her nose does indeed look much more refined these days, a look plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says is due to some well-done rhinoplasty. “After looking at many photos of Mila Kunis, I believe she’s had a conservative and elegantly done rhinoplasty that served to narrow the width of the nasal dorsum (or bridge), give it a little more dorsal height, and refine the tip. This fits her beautiful face much better; it seemed broad and boxy for her petite face in older photos,” said Dr. Walden.
A lot of them are quite surprising!
