Tagging your MP3 files are extremely important for album art organization etc.
It is a very time consuming task.
I use two major freeware pieces of software to tag my mp3s and get album art to display for the tracks.
The first is Picard Musicbrainz
This is used to quickly get the correct tag information put on to your music.
And the second app I use to get album art on the tracks, and to individually edit the track name and tag info as well.
MP3 Tag
In addition to cleaning up your music tags and adding album art this is also used for getting your music picked up by last.fm correctly.
Any questions feel free to ask I will try to respond as best and as quickly as I can.

all because of last.fm!
now i'm still kinda ocd, but it's getting better..

I waste a lot of time fixing my tags. I probably wouldn't have bothered on some of them if it weren't for last.fm, either. x_x
it's satisfying in the end though. =D

I take alot of time doing this, the right spaces, upper/lower case, changing all the romanizations and HQ cover art.

Tagging is the information contained in the file, like what shows on your mp3 player under Artists, Albums, etc.
I definitely have to tag my mp3's. I do it manually when I download new songs on Itunes.
