Wrong. Straightens and brings your teeth together, hence the long process.

cos if it's literally your two front teeth, I rec getting false teeth (cos if you get braces to bring all your teeth closer together, erm, it might look kinda weird since the other teeth may be noticeably too small to replace the front teeth w/out looking off)
and if it's just a gap on the side, either braces or fake teeth would work.

yeah, I used to have a gap between my 2 front teeth, and once I've gotten braces, it closed up.
the girl said she lost her front teeth, and if she got braces to close up that huge ass gap, wouldn't it look weird?

Anyway, you should either get a denture, veneer or this new surgery where they basically put a platinum screw into your jaw to resemble a tooth root. Then, you can screw the tooth/veneer ontop of that platinum root. I recommend this procedure because apparently, if you do not have a tooth root in your jaw, the bone at that location will recede and eventually form a dent. I saw this on a Vancouver Chinese talk show when they invited two dentists/orthodontists to the show. Dentures and veneers DO NOT prevent the bone receding, but the new surgery will because the bone GROWS with the platinum (weird eh? Apparently platinum is the only metal that works too). I don't know the name of this procedure in English, but check it out with your dentist.
I personally have a tooth missing in the back and I currently have a denture for it since I can't do anything with my jaw due to my young age. I plan on getting the new procedure though. The show said that the surgery for only one tooth is probably $2000-3000. It's about the
