Awww. ): If it makes you feel any better, next school year ends June 25th for me, but the school year starts at the same time. They're robbing me of a whole week of summer! Grrrr. I can't wait for college when we get out in May! Puahahaha.

That's craaazy. I wish I could sing, dance, and play music instruments. xD I always start to play one, but then put down before I can get anywhere with it. Booo poor attention span. ):

How were the subject tests? I heard they coincide a lot with the AP tests. Like, some questions will appear on both. 8D

aww really? that sucks. I know college is going to be so nice when we get out early. my sister is already off to korea for her summer job, and I haven't even technically ended yet (though I'm not going the last day, it's kind of a pointless half-day where we do nothing)

haha, I'm not good at all, which is why I need to massively practice this summer. I've kind of been doing music and dance since I was young, so it was easier for me to start I guess? but you can master any thing with a proper teacher, believe me biggrin.gif

ahhh the subject tests were ok. I took bio freshmen year and chem/math this year, so I'm all done yay! and I'm not sure about the APs since I didn't take any last year, and I definitely don't plan on taking AP chem, so...hehe. taking 2 APs next year (physics and calc) and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be super overwhelmed, gahhhhhh

I start summer school tomorrow sad.gif ah well, at least I'm done with school which counts smile.gif

I just toured UC Berkeley and Stanford. Gahh! I want to go to one of them pretty bad. My dream schools! Stanford has a gorgeous campus and Berkeley has a lot of student spirit. And they're both located close to San Fransisco! Wow...

I'm still waiting for my AP World History test scores...

Mmkay. so can someone give me a complete list of all the possible tests that I might have to take next year if I'm a typical nerdy asian? So far i've got:

1. SAT: January? March? :/
2. PSAT: Does anyone know when I apply and around what time is best?
3. SAT subject tests: I'm going to take the math level 2 in september, but I feel like I need one more subject test... Would anyone like to recommend one? I'm thinking about literature...
4. IB tests: For my SL IB classes, which include psychology and american history
5. AP tests: Since I'm feeling crazy, I'm going to take the AP tests along with the IB tests, just because I can take them without taking the class... I'm not 100% sure on this, as I have to wait to see how confident I feel about the subjects I'm taking the test for, but do any of you IBers out there who've taken the AP tests feel this is a good choice??
6. ??? What other tests have I not covered that I probably should?

And does anyone know how they calculate the weights of advanced classes like IB in california? I'm aiming for a UC college (UCLA or Berkeley) and let's just say I screwed up my soph. year GPA kinda of badly (3.7 for the whole year). Wondering if I can still save still it even if I am taking 5 IB classes.

Classes I'm Taking Next Year

- Mock Trial
- Honors Creative Writing
- Precalculus
- Physics
- Concert Band
- Math Team
- AP Psychology
- AP Statistics
- Gym

Grr it's a packed schedule!
I'm really hoping I can get my gpa up to around a 93.. because it should be like a 92 point something as of now..
which means i need to get like 95+ on both my report cards.

for the summer, i'm just planning to have fun, lose weight, and study for stuff like physics, us, and psats.
I'm so nervous, and next year will be hell because i have no decent sat II scores sad.gif

^Aw. I think I was in 81st.
A friend of mine was in the 98th or 99th (not too sure) percentile but he's super smart plus he got the perfect score our state's assessment tests.
He always gets the highest score on the practice tests in APWH but I kick his butt in essays almost all the time.

Ehh. I'm only 1/4 Asian (maybe that has something to do with my bad driving, jkjkjk).
I could drive better if I wasn't all paranoid thanks to those videos in Driver's Ed.
(But she did show a video on a guy driving a lawnmower while drunk, THAT was hilarious considering lawnmowers go like 4 or 5mph?)
It was a good thing I didn't go on the last day of school because a lot of kids told me they couldn't drive after seeing that video she showed on the last day. X_X

Man, I have so many kids like that in my class...I think 3 of them got 99th percentile, and another girl got 97th!
haha. Nice! The one guy that got 99th percentile is like, the smartest person I've ever met. I think I'm beating him in class rank though! He wound up getting a C in German this year because he got all cocky and starting using drugs and what not...=/

That's terrible! I can't believe your teacher did that! X___X
Omg, I'm gonna be so paranoid when I drive, I can feel it! ):

From what I know, I think colleges look at the unweighted averages first, and then consider the advancement of your classes. For your PSAT, you should sign up around August or whenever you pick up your schedule (that's when my counselor told me I should sign up) As for AP classes, they don't affect your GPA, so why not take them? Apparently, it's better for your application to take the test and fail than take the class and not take the test. I'm taking my AP tests along with my IB tests - so why not? It could help in prep for IB tests which I heard were easier LOL.

♥ and in that moment, i swear we were infinite.

SAT2 or SAT1? haven't taken SAT1 yet (studying this summer) but I've taken 3 subject tests and go 760 (bio) 770 (chem) and 800 (math).

I honestly think my scores got mixed up with some genius out there because my studying was NO WHERE near effective...

summer plans for 2009:
-summer school (ceramics)
-volunteer at local gardens
-study for SAT (self study x_x)
-tutor (50 bucks a week; 4 hours a week)
-get my permit

that's basically it. summer doesn't feel like summer this year. it's just extra time to do stuff that i didn't get to do during sophomore year.

You get 50 bucks for 4 hours??? I've been getting gipped. I don't get a dime for tutoring. ):
Oii...I should be studying and doing my homework, but that hasn't really worked out...Pretty much none of my summer plans have panned out and I only have a month and a half left! @___@ I'm so lazy! Is anyone else having trouble staying (or in my case, getting) on track?

^ Geez. I haven't started annotating my book for AP English. >_<
My mom refuses to let me do volunteering because she's afraid that I'm going to get kidnapped or something. >_>

Got my APWH score back and I got a 4! -dances-
I thought for sure it would be lower because I BS'd on that last essay.
