Class Of 2011! One last stretch

I went to get my schedule yesterday and I literally blew up at the Guidance consulsers.
They decided not to give me any AP classes just because they wanted the non-ESE students to have the priority and they happened to fill them up before they got to me. (I'm only considered ESE just because English isn't considered my first language.)
It just doesn't make sense that they would denied me ALL AP classes if the non-fluent in English was REALLY the problem.
They should've only denied me AP English, right?
Heck, I was one of the 14 kids out of my APWH class last year who passed so why deny me AP History as well?
And to make matter worse they dropped all of my classes' level down to regular since I requested that all of my other non-AP classes to be in Honors.
Ugh. I'm getting pissed.

I don't think I'll ever take any AP classes in high school cause I don't think I'd pass the exam anyways, I'll just stick with my honor classes and I'll be fine...hopefully

@ XDorkXx: They gave me another art class as well and I couldn't take a third year foreign language because of AP Bio...
As for me, I just realized that I don't need a first period class since I'll be taking night classes at the community college so now I gotta find time on the first day of school to request a schedule change ASAP. What even sucks is that I have to wake up early to catch the bus and I'm afraid by the time the bus gets there, I won't have time to see my counselors... And even if I do get there on time, I doubt that the counselors will see any students on the first day of school since it's going to be so busy...
I hate having something like this hang around the air for a couple days before it actually gets change... I wonder if there's anybody at the high school right now that I can drive up to...
.__.

Most of them were new, like fresh out of college so I think I really scared them. Lol.
But it's not the first time I've done this anyways, they pulled the same stunt on me last year about APWH.
Anyways... Here's my new schedule...
1. AP English Language and Composition
2. French III
3. AP Statistics
4. Contemporary Literature (1st Semester)
Psychology II (2nd Semester)
5. Criminal Justice I (I'm thinking of switching this for 3D Animation or Yearbook)
6. AP US History
7. Chemistry Honors

i'm seriously BUMMED out about my schedule. even though this year would probably be easy. and my elective sounds like a class that they put all the rejects (like me) in. =_____=
i wanted my honors classes to upgrade to ap classes, but my schedule apparently doesn't agree! if only i took spanish.. then it would've worked out well i think.
& i hope someone answers my question: i know that ap is higher ranked than honors, but do you think my schedule could still be competitive as the student who have more ap's? (if i ace all of my classes!)

And change of topic, would my AP Human Geography score affect my chances in getting to college? I recieved a 2

Quick question for you guys, what is your AP grade weighted on? Cause I moved from California to Florida and in Cali, they weighted it out of a 5.0 GPA scale, but in Florida they weight it one a 6.0 scale. So now that I moved, I wonder if my AP classes that I took in Cali would transfer over to that 6.0 scale or so... And my counselor is being a total beezy... She's been avoiding me for days now.

I'm pretty sure they will covert it because they will need to in order to give you your cumulative GPA.
Blehh. I dropped AP Stats and I'm taking Pre-Cal instead. the Statistics teacher has NO idea what he was doing.

I was in orchestra from 4th-9th grade. Do you take private lessons? I'm not sure about your school but at my school you have to be recommended and since your middle school orch teacher did not recommend you, then you'll probably have to ask your highschool teacher.
And they're probably going to make you play in front of them.
If you really want to be in orch I suggest taking private lessons during junior year or the summer...
Do you want to be in 1st violin or 2nd violin?? At my school the pieces we play are pretty hard. Expect to know major and minor scales and be able to play in 3rd position.
I suggest you play viola. Violas don't really have as much to say in music...
So playing it is relatively easy and laidback (cuz my orch teacher focused more on the violins and cellos cuz they had harder pieces)
But personally I don't think it's worth the pricate lessons. Just join and participate in worthwhile clubs and volunteer.
It's not worth the money for renting/buying a violin and paying for priv lessons to be able to catch up (30 mins= $30)
especially if you're not going to continue after high school.
Sorry for the long post!!

is that necessary.......? cause I've been looking around soompi and all I see in classes are ap ap ap ap and ap. and I've never felt so stupid in my life to be taking my classes.
Teacher Aid(chem)
Trig/Pre-calc
Honors Physics
Honors Spanish 4
US History
Honors Am. Lit
freshman GPA: 3.8(i don't know if that's my weighted or unweighted..it's just what it says on my report card. lolol)
sophomore GPA: 3.4(again, really idk if that's weighted or unweighted)
junior year, I'm hoping for a 4.2+
extra-curricular:
Key Club (all three years)
National Honor Society (soph&junior, not allowed for freshman)
Choir (sophomore)
School Dance Team(junior!!)
SAT II: Korean:780(I'm a full out korean, so it kind of makes sense)
World History: 440............(uh, I don't have to give out this score to any colleges, right?)
haven't taken my SAT I yet....i'm taking it December..but my diag scores are around 1660..I'm guessing that's REALLY bad of a score for some of you..
QUESTION!
Honestly, what are my chances of getting into a UCLA..UCIrvine..UCsandiego..? or USC maybe?
But before, I was kind of leaning towards private colleges because I'm really fond of my extracurricular activities I do(especially dance) and I really want colleges to look at how much I tried outside of school. Would private be better for me, or a UC? someone help me out...........
and could someone please help me out on some good sites that have good advice for good private college? lol, thanks!! pm me if you can please.

I get what you mean, lol. I felt kind of stupid among all these AP class taking people here!
lol, although I got persuaded to take AP US history this year ;_; I'm hoping it won't be so bad.
I'm taking almost all the classes your taking, and I got 750 for korean SAT. :/
Oh, and my GPA is sort of similar to yours too! Wow, lots of similarities.
Sorry I can't answer your college question since I'm quite clueless myself, but I'm sure if you keep up with your clubs & the gpa, it would be fine. (:

Here's my current schedule for this year:
Advisory (Independent Reading)
US History
Spanish I
Algebra II/Trigonometry (double period on Mondays and Thursdays)
American Literature
Chemistry
Junior Year Seminar (only on Tuesdays, Fridays, and soon Wednesdays)
I'm planning on taking some extra-curricular activities like softball and Newspaper, which I took last year. Didn't join any activities for freshman year because...we didn't have a lot. O___O
I don't remember my GPA for freshman year (somewhere above a 3.5?), but for sophomore year i had a 3.8. Hopefully, I'll get higher this year! D: I think I'm gonna be so stressed since April-early May is test month. PSSA and then this state test. Also, we have our PSAT on October 17th. Well, we take the state-wide test every six weeks, so it adds on the stress.
Aw, my school doesn't have half the stuff most soompiers have. The only AP class they're giving to juniors is AP Language...and I didn't take it although I do regret it. I think only seniors are allowed to take AP History, AP Literature, and AP Chemistry. We have so little AP courses and our criteria is a bit messy since this is a new school and we're the second graduating class ToT
The plus side is we're having a National Honor Society and taking internships for seminar. Can't wait for both of these!
Dedication takes a lifetime, but dreams only last for a night
