Library is a great place to get books, but I seem to only find outdated ones. Try buying some from upperclassmen friends who will sell it to you for cheap.

I'm in no clubs or sports this year either. I can feel the fail approaching.
Does it look bad without clubs or sports? Because I honestly feel like all the clubs at my school are pointless.
I do a lot of random out of school things...@_@
I really can't wait for senior year and college!

My school is considering introducing Senior Option, which lets us skip a period and go to school later. It all works out because apparently everyone's already geared to graduating with a crapload of credits above state required.
Would it be a good idea to do Senior Option? When the teach asked who wanted to do it, I was the only one outta my friends to raise my hand XD I'm the laziest :'P

My school kinda has a thing like that, except it's just called "open periods" or "free period" which I think that explains it itself. (: You can do whatever you want in that period. You're free to leave campus (I believe) and if you had your first/last periods off, you can come late or leave school early.

Well, our state requires like 3 years of science class and 2 years of language, stuff like that, so technically by senior year everyone should be able to have some free periods. However, there are also a lot of people that end up taking more than required so they end up having a full schedule. So unless your school works differently, I don't think it's a bad idea at all. I'd love to be able to leave early/sleep in a bit more or just have that time to get some hw done haha.

^ Yeah, we have those "free periods" at my school but it's mainly for seniors though. It's RARE for a junior to get a free period but a friend of mine manged get a free period during 1st hour so he gets to sleep in but he has his own car so he can drive to school so its no problem for him. Lucky bastard.

I wish they would give out our PSAT results already. I want to know if I qualified for National Merit (I highly doubt it though, I totally bombed the test). If not, I can go ahead and take the SAT and the subject tests in the spring so I have more opportunity to get higher score.

Ugh. 1st 9 weeks is over and I have done no volunteering or joined any clubs whatsoever.
Damn my extinct social skills. sleep.gif

lol...

At my school we have free periods, or basically the study halls. Teachers can give out free periods but yeah that's only when they're sick and there is no sub. So yeah, we can do whatever we want during free periods or whenever we don't have class except for freshmen.

Freshmen has study halls.
Sophomores can leave if they have the last free period (so period 8 or 7 depending on the day/block schedule). And also wander around the school.
Juniors can leave during lunch and if they have the last period free. Can wander around the school as well.
Seniors can leave whenever they don't have class.

my school is so lenient <3 i love it. Also we can use our phones/any technology in the hallways, classrooms, and the library.

Gahh, do you any of you guys know what the ACT is out of?

School's so simple this year, I think it's just my teachers. Favourite class is AP Psychology((:
Signed up for SATs, ACTs, &SATIIs. Got my eye out for Santa Clara University, I really don't wanna bother with UCs or CSUs.. Private Universities ftwww.

I can't wait for Spring, gotta debate on Swimming or Track this year. New swim coach, does not make me happy! Oh and, license in a month guys, woo. No more walking in the rain for 40 minutes to school.

Never heard of it! '0' . And I don't have the money for a private university...

I'm only planning on taking the SAT's during March and hopefully I won't have to take it again... But ugghh, I barely have any time to study for them! D:

junior year is hard for me, and it's challenging.
I like to push forward with hard things, and try to succeed.
if i don't succeed, it's likely that the class was boring so i didn't care.
but that never happens because i always look forward to it.

just on days we're it's too stressful for me and i end up not going to class.
sometimes we just need a rest from school right? 2 day weekend is not enough for me.
really...it's not.

anyhow, i'm not surprise about having to start looking for colleges.
I'm interested in writing but love art as well..so i might be looking into more of art schools.
however i might go with UC's because i love meeting lots of new people..and i wanna get out of my city, gah.

getting a ib diploma and going to an art college. humm. doesn't sound too compatible. lol
but it looks good on your resume~ wink.gif

Physics is so hard sad.gif
I should have taken it freshmen year so i would have took biology this year.

I have no clubs or sports for my whole high school career either. I'm so screwed D:

Is anyone else going to take the SATs in January? Because I'm planning to take it in January, then June, and then once more in senior year if I'm not happy with scores.

Feels so good to be a junior lol I like being able to call myself one :> hurhur

But this year history is KILLING me D:
I've never been good at the subject, so this is just bollocks fffffffff (couldn't think of another word to describe it... LOL) I'm kind of enjoying the feeling of being a real "student" though. Like the responsibility and such. I'm taking three AP classes each semester, so I'm getting my fill of work yup yup.

Still hoping to focus on art, since my goal is to get into a good art school. I need to prepare a portfolio for possible scholarships and improve my skills these last two years... alot of people take art in high school for the easy grade, and to be honest my art class right now is not much help :|

OMGOSH I wanna get into SCAD so baaad.
I also kind of want to go to San Jose University where my cousin goes. Their animation program is great. And also Ringling School of Art and Design is another one I'm looking at. My friends say I should go to New York (Pratt and a few other good colleges are there), but chances of me going to an out-of-state college are extremely slim right now... we can't afford it.

I live in North Carolina btw OTL

I'm looking at the ones from MICA, Syracuse, Corcoran, etc. Basically schools on the east coast.
Probably not the same ones you're looking into. lol. Those have portfolio requirements.
JMU doesn't have portfolio reqs though. Columbus College of Art and Design(OH) probably has one too.

I'm part of the graduation class of 2011.
BUT
I have early graduations and I have all my credits and enough college hours to go to college as a sophomore.
I have decided to stay in high school for my whole senior year and I will still graduate with my class.

Am i still a part of '11 lol.

Hershey bar? Lucky. I didn't get anything );

Uh. All A's, one A-
So my gpa should be 4.35 atm. I think.
It was a 4.27 last year.

Are you gonna take the SAT's twice this year, or once senior year/once this year?

I have a question:

Ok, I'm not sure if this is for every school or whatever, but in my school, when you fail a class, it does not get averaged into your transcript. When you retake the class, that grades get averaged in unless you take it in summer school. The thing is, I have a friend who failed a bunch of classes and retook them in summer school. But all the classes he passed were with decent grades and his average is like an 89. However, I've failed no classes but some classes my grades aren't that good so my average is lower than his. So, would a college pick him over me?
