Me and my Ex(let's call him guy #1) broke up about 10 months ago. Now I've been dating a new guy (let's call him guy #2) for about 2 or 3 months. I am very very very happy with guy #2, and plan to stay with him for a long time :]

But almost everynight lately I've been having these nightmares about guy #1. He's either ignoring me when we're suppose to be friends, or something else.

Note: me and guy#1 no longer talk or are friends. It has been this way since we broke up. Also note guy#1 was my first boyfriend... And he wasn't a very good one...

Do any of you every have these nightmares about ex's?

Sounds like post traumatic stress. How is ignoring you a nightmare? lol

Haha well, it's just the whole situation of the dream, it's a lot more elaberate than I could really explain... >_<

Plus I take medication everynight before I sleep, I don't know if it could be a side affect??

That's probably it; I get weird dreams from meds all the time as well.
Try a few nights without em and see how that goes.
consecutively also.

Then ask your doctor if these are the side effects, and if so, ask for another brand of meds ( i dont know what ails you, but many times they have different meds for the same illness)
so that maybe you won't have the same problems.
or just deal, that's what i'd do

Hmm... I will ask them next time then xD... But my meds are also suppose to end anykind of nightmares. So it could be unrelated to my medication.

You're supposed to be friends with your ex?

._.

That never works out, unless the break up was mutual or something.

I guess you dont have to be friends with your ex's.
But It's better to get over ex.
I'm friends with all my ex and I have no hatred against them.

You are prolly having nightmares because you guys are not friends.
You still want the friendship..?
Not talking to your ex (unless they cheat or lied) is kinda..stressing.

Just try to be his friend, if he doesnt want to be your friend.
Let him be a B about it.

That has happened to me - in fact I was in the same position as you, only this happened to me a while ago.

My dreams consisted of my ex blackmailing me :\

Usually when you have nightmares, they're scary because they are things you don't want to happen. It seems like you're scared that your ex will pop out of nowhere and annoy/ jeopardise your new relationship, but at the same time you don't want to be on bad terms with him (or anyone in general).

The nightmares eventually go away. I only had about one or two of those nightmares, and now I've just gotten over them. Good luck!

i had one last night. it was about my ex. secretly dating a previous friend of mine..they broke up but they went on 6 dates and i never knew about it and she was bsing about me to him. i think i was crying in my dream lol. i also had dreams of which someday i come to school, i would see him hooking up with a friend of mine or even a random girl. but the thing is he was soo good to me but i had to break up with him for reasons so i guess it's hard to forget.

but soon i shall forget about him. soon biggrin.gif

never give up on someone that makes you smile :)

Sometimes, dreams trying to hint that there is something going on or there is something that is left undone.

Maybe its trying to tell you that you should kill him.

I had dreams with my ex in them too after we broke up.... but definitely not anymore. Maybe you feel some sort of guilt and that's why you're dreaming about him ignoring you.

i had a nightmare where my ex grew teeth and claws and slashed my guts open with a blood-stained cleaver, and if that wasn't enough she was.... kissing my best friend. at that point i woke up screaming.

Umm right before my bf dumped me for the first time, I had a dream he abandoned me somewhere I didn't know and another where he broke up with me twice because he wanted to be with one of his other female friends.
It's just fear. We're back together now and I don't get those dreams anymore.
Probably because I just don't care that much anymore lol.

Dreams don't happen randomly.
Dreams only happen if you think about it a lot.

Have you liked this guy and dreamed about you being with him? I'm sure everyone does xD
It's coz you keep thinking about him.

I'm not saying you still have feelings for your ex.
But first boyfriends are always special, and you mentioned how he treats you badly, I guess that explains the bad nightmares about him lol.

how to stop it, I don't know, you can't control dreams lol.

That's one more reason why I dislike taking American medicine. It makes you more sicker than your original state.
