Hi, I was wondering if MP3 players' batteries are the same as laptop or cell phone batteries where we should always drain all the battery before recharging it or it will shorten the span of the battery permantly. This phenominal happens when you charge a battery before its empty so it forgets how much energy it is capable of storing. I'm not sure of the name or if I'm describing it right but if you know please help!
I just got the Samsung P2 8GB YP-P2 MP2 Player.. just for your information in case each MP3 is different or this one that I got is unique.
Thanks for everyones help in advance!

If its lithium ion or lithium polymer cells (most mp3 players use polymer) but the thing to do is charge it whenever you can, complete drains are bad and will decrease battery life.
After a long time like every few months its fine to drain it down and charge it back up and it will be able to recalibrate.
