I've been using soap for a week and here's what I've been noticing:

Hair- Though it's bit on the dry/waxy side, my hair is less oily than it's ever been.
Skin- Even without any lotion or body oil, the skin on my body has been soft and less irritated/itchy.
Face- I've been breaking out!! Is that supposed to happen? If so, when should I expect it to subside?

I broke out really bad for the first month (originally I don't have much acne). After using soap for a month and half now, the breakouts have lessened (and end up with better looking skin than before).
Everyone has a different experience so you just gotta be REALLY patient and let that phase pass, it could take a few weeks to a few months!

I replied before but now I noticed the toothpaste, since someone else brought it up.

You've posted this:

Is it possible to post any sources? I have sources that state otherwise.

The only source that states fluoride causing gum disease is when there is an overdose. Otherwise, fluoride added to our drinking water and in our toothpaste seems to help our teeth.

Also, apparently having "good dental habits" won't be the only factor in getting cavities.

I would also like to see sources for other advices given.

are you kidding? google "fluoride bad for teeth".

anyone who understands the scientific inaccuracy and deliberately misleading use of statistical "correlations" should be able to figure out on their own why the 70 y/o assumption that "fluoride is good for the teeth" is piss-poor.

for those who don't, know that fluoride itself has never been proven to prevent dental caries.
read the "fluoride" and "brushing teeth" articles if you still don't understand.
and medical "authority" is my happy poopoo. What's taught to doctors and dentists is heavily filtered by pharmaceutical and other industries.

true a century ago, true now.

*edit* to those who had the 'film' after switching to brushing with soap...

i'm guessing that you failed to rinse with water after eating food and drink, particularly sugary things.
that film is just more obvious w/o the glycerin coating your mouth.

rinse well, and brush well.
there should be some foaming.
i will usually brush my teeth more than once; when it foams sufficiently with little soap, it's an indicator that the teeth are pretty clean.

I looked on Google under "From Medical Authority" and there was absolutely nothing from medical authorities stating that fluoride was bad for teeth. The only thing that came up that fluoride was bad for the mouth was when there was an overdose. Even when going to the regular google search, I find a few quackery blogs and the rest are usually other sources, like newspapers, supporting that fact.

I'm sorry, but how can I trust you if you don't give sources for your information?

whoah...good thing i use organic shampoo!
nature's gate red tea and asian pear shampoo smells so good.
even though it's $7 for 12 ounces, it's definitely worth it.

body: my dried skin became smoother and softer biggrin.gif <3 it! no need for lotion anymore lol
face: it was dried at first, but now it feels more soft
teeth: when i first used it, it felt very weird.. and i dont really see a difference.. it still feels like i have bad breath throughout the day lol, but i'm still going to use it

did you read eunbit's post clearly?? she's not saying for you to shower only four times a year. she's just pointing out that you don't need to shower every single day.

I'm very sure it's not the light...my mom looked at it and my friend did too and they said it was gray.

Now my mom wants me to go back to shampoo and I might...I don't want to look like an old lady >.>

Hey I just found your thread today! I've read through some of your stuff and I like where you're coming from
I, like you also have used minerals foundation in the past. Not the exact same brand but the same kind of "stuff".
Even though I didn't use it for as long as you did (1 month) I noticed that my skin began to look 'bad'. I don't know how to explain it but it startde to look like I actually needed make-up. I would really love to try this way of cleaning. I've got nothing to lose and I'd figured it'd be nice to learn how to save money before I even have to start supporting myself. I just have a few questions.

How hard was it for you to find a natural soap, in other words a Marsielle/Castille soap? I haven't been looking but I don't think it's a very popular product down here in Australia. Organic shops perhaps?

Instead of buying a 'hair oil' would it be okay to use olive oil? My mother said it's pretty good for the hair and it's natural. I don't know if there are different types of olive oil.

When I was reading your posts I noticed that you said titanium dioxide is bad but that's like a active ingredient in sunblock/suncreams. What do you use instead (on the body)? I'm also pretty spazz over getting a tan.

I think I've asked so many questions but I actually do want to know of the answer. I'm happy with your opinions.

Might I also add as a bit of trivia (I suppose), the peole during the Elizabethan times didn't have the 'luxury' of showering/bathing as often as we do. The magic of plumbing huh smile.gif So they probably bathed about once/twice a year.
