My aunt gave me a mijain hwangto soap. I've never heard of this soap before...
The ingredients on the box: coconut resin, yellow ocher, mixed herb extract, aloe vera, jojoba oil, squalane, tocopherol, grape seed oil.

Does anybody know if this soap is good? I tried to google it but there's no review whatsoever.
I'm just wondering if anybody ever heard of this soap. And I would like to know if it's good before I put it on my face hehehe..

Thanks! smile.gif

I started about 4 days ago.
My hair feels so odd and extreme tangly ><

Try using a vinegar rinse to reduce the waxy feeling. I know some other posters have used this method during the detox period

thanks, this thread is awesome.
I always knew SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE (SLS) and SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (SLES) was bad because my mom bought shampoo that had it and it made my scalp very itchy and I would always have dandruff T_T.

lol okay another clarification please :]
so, where i live, the nearest Korean supermarket is at least 2-3 hours away.
but there was this small Japanese convenience store nearby that sold these rough pads which was supposed to slough off dead skin.
when i used it, i did not see visible skin coming off, but when i rinsed, these white, pasty, dust-like particles came off in amounts. so i was like "oh, so it does take off skin. i guess it works"
but after using it for 2 months, once a week, the skin on my legs look SCALY. but not because i need to exfoliate, but because it seems....wrinkled like that?
i rub back and forth and so i assume thats the cause, but if i dont rub like that, the skin wont come off.
should i stop and just go find that korean milgi?
has anyone used this before? if so, what were your results, and how did you use it?
im worried :/

thank you ahead of time :]

Did you use hot water to 'soften' your skin first? I'm using the korean one, and i usually shower in rather hot water first. Then with the damp cloth, i'll slowly scrub downwards in one direction. After a while i started seeing less dirt getting scrubbed off, i guess cus if you're doing it weekly, you wont be as dirty as when u just started? Remember to moisturise after scrubbing, the key thing is to be gentle on your skin! wink.gif

BY THE WAY, i've been using soap for months now and my hair got really healthy, but now that its winter my hair seems slighty oil and limp? Any solutions anybody??

also, if you don't like the taste of soap, you can use salt. My uncle is a dentist and he uses salt.

Also saw a Korean documentary a long time ago about a guy that uses salt instead of toothpaste. He has no cavities.

the ingredients are :

Water, Lauryl Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate, Glycereth 7, Glycol Distearate, Capryl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, PEG 150 Distearate, PPG 2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide, PEG 120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

Is it bad? If it is, what should i use to remove the makeup? i tried using dr bronners soap but it doesnt work as well...

After I found this shop that I bought recently from Old Navy (weird place to buy soap I know). It's On Sco soap and I initially bought it because it smells amazing! But after I read this post I looked through my cleansing products and realized that this is the only thing I have without any of the harmful ingredients mentioned (except glycerin).

Ingredients (as listed on the packaging):

SODIUM PALMATE, SODIUM PALM KERNELATE, WATER/EAU (AQUA), GLYCERINE, FRAGRANCE/PARFUM, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), SODIUM CHLOERIDE, TETRASODIUM EDTA

I'm wondering if this soap is good to use, cuz I'd like to try this method out! I've been using Neutrogenea Oil-Free Stress Relief Acne Scrub (or whatever it's called) and it's making me break out even more... even with my boosted levels of sleep and water intake >_<

I'm worried most about the edta, I think I can live with a little glycerine on my face...lol

hey guys,

parkie871 sent me a PM about where you can find Olivia Care soaps in Canada.
apparently, London Drugs, Winners and Homesense carry the soaps!

so any appreciative neighbors up north can give her a PM of thanks.

i've been crazy busy working, so I haven't had as much time to reply on the thread.

if you're experiencing dryness/peeling while using soap on your face, try washing it ONLY when it's oily or you need to remove makeup/sunblock. once at night works well for a lot of people.

will make more updates soon! hope you guys are enjoying cleaner, healthier skin smile.gif

Don't exfoliate your face with the italy towel [or as you call it, korean towel] Its too rough to be used for the face. I never noticed a flakiness around my mouth or nose before though. Maybe try moisturizing?

the soap has fragrance in it... I don't know if that would irritate your skin or not [if you have sensitive skin] i know eunbit has a post on ingredients that should be avoided. Check that post?

I´ve had to stop using soap for my face because it was too drying... I think it´s because I always had to remove my make-up and so, instead of using a tiny tiny bit, I probably used more than recommended. I used a mixture of honey, olive oil and sugar for a while, and now I´ve started something else.

But other than that, it´s wroking pretty well. I stopped using shampoo a bit before the New Year and I like how I can go the whole week washing my hair just twice. Although lately it´s been a bit more oily, probably because summer is coming and the heat affects my scalp (more sebum, maybe?), but I bought today one of these:
http://www.spinalistips.se/tip-massage-hai...handle-847.html
I think they´ll be good to lather the soap more around my scalp and just get rid of residue better (not to mention it´s supposed to help circulation and was also mad cheap, not even a dollar). I´ll let you guys know how it works ^^

I just use soap [the one i use to wash my hair/face/body/etc.] to remove my makeup o-o it works fine. And for moisturizer I know some people have been using extra virgin olive oil as a moisturizer.
