Eversince seeing Luxo (the pixar icon lamp) on Sesame street, Shrek, the incredibles... I just like Animation. haha! Movies like Shrek, Surf's up, Wall-E, it touches that little kid part of you that makes me like it. Movies like those have wonderful colours, great animation, awesome plot and meaning behind it. i think it's creative while some of my friends feel more inclined with 'Real' movies. haha. Do you keep in touch with your playful side?

Nothin' wrong with pixar... its just another way of telling a story. For me.. cartoons or animated movies have come a long way from Disney's old stuff... to say Finding Nemo. The colours.. animations.. they're all pretty impressive when I think back on what I watched as a kid. Plus... you gotta love the dual humour that kids don't get, but adults do... ya know--the stuff they sneak into the movies.

Childhood is brief, Maturity lasts forever. Whats the rush?

I love children's/family movies. I think they are really underrated. Wall-E, especially isn't really appropriate for kids. Yes, it looks cool and its cute and funny, but they won't understand the deeper message. I also liked Kung Fu Panda a lot, because it was cute. I also saw Bolt, which made me cry.

I really love cartoons- I watch kids cartoons and adult cartoons like Family Guy but I love cartoons - people think I'm silly but I don't really care because I enjoy watching them, makes my life not so boring.

I love Pixar movies -- my favorite is Toy Story. And it's true that Pixar includes humor that doesn't necessarily cater to kids; stuff in Wall-E says a lot about recycling, global warming, and the obesity epidemic.

Pixar is amazing. Disney, besides the false princess dreams, is also amazing too. I kinda wish for Disney to go back to their old animation, but I heard it costs more to do that then to do a Pixar film. Sad.

EDIT: I agree with Lie. Studio Ghibli is wonderfully amazing!!!

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, although I think it'd be better if you preferred Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli (I prefer Miyazaki to Takahata and the rest of the Ghibli directors though) movies to Pixar lol. But that's just a personal taste thing. I'm in my early 20s and I love both being that I'm a story-writer myself, and Miyazaki particularly is a master storyteller. I've been watching/reading a lot of documentaries and interviews with him lately, the guy is my artistic role model. Absolutely genius imho.

The weird thing about most societies, is that they impress upon you (sometimes consciously, sometimes subconsciously) that you should cease to generate creative energy once you reach a certain age. Essentially "grow up and get a job!" I think that you can do that while still enjoying things that stimulate your creativity, and allow you to be nostalgic about your youth. For me, Miyazaki movies are that. Murakami books are that. Sometimes even kids shows will cause me to have an idea that I can write about. So I wouldn't let people put you down (if they are) for liking something that's "for kids." As long as you enjoy it and you aren't hurting anyone by doing so, I don't see the harm in it.

Just about a week ago myself and about 5 other Master's students (so about 23-28+ years old lol) had a The Sword in the Stone (classic Disney) party. It was pretty epic.

Just because the creators used animation to tell the story and produce a movie doesn't mean it's childish to watch it. I think it's sad that animation seems so irrevocably linked to being only for kids, when there are plenty of animated movies out there that are both timeless and hold appeal for people over 20.

That said, I definitely keep watching animation even now. My 26 year old brother loves Pixar movies too! I think I'll keep watching them even when I'm old and gray. By then hopefully it won't be weird. sweatingbullets.gif

Quite simply, I enjoy watching them. I got Wall-E for Christmas. I see all sorts of Pixar and Disney movies, and I love em! They're light hearted and fun. And they even seem to throw a bit of adult humor in from time to time!

i LOVE pixar, it was one of my dreams to work for them even tho i have no animation skills whatsoever lol
Alice asked the Cheshire Cat `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
