Sorry if this is something ludicrous or stupid (yeah, it is slightly, I know); but I really want a European license plate on my car. Is there any way to get one in California? If so, how? Where?

Sorry for the stupid questions. tongue.gif

Thanks! (:

Wait, so if I just buy a European license plate, I can just put it on my car? No legal issues?

Do what ever you like but when you get arrested and fined, please tell me. I would so love to put this on the net.

check the legality issues for your state or province specifically.
i live in Vancouver BC, and i know for a fact that not having your front place mounted properly and visibly will earn you a ticket.

this is a random guess but if your state/province laws says you dont need a front plate (theres a few out there that dont require the front plate), im assuming its fine then.

just dont put it on your dash. if you get pulled over, cops will give you a higher fine for not displaying properly than not having it at all.

What this person is saying is can she get a european union looking license plate and put it on her car replacing her current state plate. Or I think thats what she means.

The rule in California is to have license plates, front and back. With that said I am assuming anything other than your California license plate would be illegal and would easily attract attention IMO.

I would rock the dual plate look, so it looks like your car came off the cargo ship biggrin.gif

I know people in Europe used to do this a lot before they went standardized with the EU plates.

well most states make you have a state plate in the front and back. Cali is one of those states. So nope, no Euro plate for you.

and there are some sites out there that creat personalized Euro plates for you.

p.s, I hope your car is european, cuz if its not, its kinda dumb.
