what do you eat after a workout? and when do you eat after a workout? is it okays to eat dinner after a workout?

Eat as soon as possible after. There's no really set thing you should be eating.
Just make sure you're intaking protein, carbs and some electrolytes to replenish your body.

right after a workout you should eat simple carbs to restore energy quickly. then about an hour after you should have a complex carb meal with protein.

Also, If your goal is building more muscle be sure to eat something before you sleep. Your body goes in a catabolic state while your sleeping 6-8 hours. So best thing to do is have a good amount of protein and fats before bed. For example 30-40 grams of protein along with some fats to slow your digestive system down while sleeping. Cottage cheese is a great slow digesting protein before bed if you can stomach it. I usually just have a piece of chicken and some peanut butter before bed.
