I'm currently a freshman in college and I'll be starting my second semester in a few weeks.
I'm planning on moving into an aparment with one of my very close friends but it's my first time so I'm pretty much lost.
What would you say is a "nice apartment" as in.. what would I need to check for when looking for an apartment?

And does financial aid cover for off campus housing too? (I've lived in the dorms during my first semester)
What steps do I need to take? T-T

Desperate for help so please reply back!
Online answers on Google didn't really help me much cause I couldn't understand some things they wrote so I'd like some Soompi help! smile.gif

generally, financial aid doesn't cover off-campus housing.

I don't see why they would =/
Most places might run a credit check and you will probably need references so keep that in mind.

When I was looking for an apartment, I looked at these things: (a) washer/ dryer?, (cool.gif general crime rate?, © parking / proximity to school, (d) how many liquor stores / cheque cashing (sign of bad area) with lack of grocery stores.

Check with your school though!! At the apartment I lived at before someone could actually use FinAid because it was loosely affiliated with the school. It wasn't ON the school but it was still a "school apartment."

Also check your Financial Aid to see what it covers. tongue.gif

I live off-campus and the money that I would use for dorms and meal money goes straight to my banking account... and I use it for my rent.
