My friends and I are the president and vice president of Leaders Club. Basically, high school students all over (NYC) come every Friday. We always start off with an ice breaker and have them complete several activities. Afterward, we have a discussion about various topics. We already talked about HIV/AIDs and also about high school!

I don't think that the club members enjoy these topics but they are there because of the volunteer opportunities that's offer. Most of the club members are guys. There's a total of 32 members and I think that 20 of them are guys? I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions on interesting topics that we can discuss about? Thanks!

the environment, the economy, public policy... there'a a lot. you are the future. talk about it. Leaders club sounds like a group meant for leaders. if you cannot lead the next generation, what are you? just another group that hangs out for the sake of putting something on your college resume? make the most of it =)

Thanks for the topics but I am really offended by your statement about me doing this for the sake of putting something on my college resume. I do this every Friday because I want to and I enjoy it there.

I am here to ask for some advice. Can leaders not ask for advice? The reason that I ask for advice is because I am curious about what the male population might be interested in since they seem like they are not very interested.

like what watcher brought up,, how about talking about our current economy?
like who it benefits, who doesn't, what do they think led to our current "depression", if they have any ideas that they think would contribute of making our economy better, what would become of our future generations, how it would effect us, what we should do to turn that around, etc.
i think i repeated some questions but oh well,,, but i think its a topic a lot of people can talk about.
my friends and i once talked about this topic for several hours and there were lots of interesting comments. lol.

and yes, leaders can ask for advice. my comment was to say leaders should think about how they should lead. thus i suggested topics on the economy, public policy, etc. it was not to say you shouldn't ask about it.

This sounds like the Advisory thing my school is suddenly trying to do (just because we've had so many fights--seriously, if I wanted to get closer to my homeroom peers, I would have tried three years ago). It's every other Monday and we just started this week. They're trying to get us to talk about things like bullying and what future plans we have for ourselves.
