so a few of my friends got HID for their cars n the installation was pretty easy so i got one for my sister's RSX recently. the RSX engine space is ALOT more cramp than my friend's car but i thought it wouldn't be too bad installing them. however, i found out that the base that holds the lightbulb of the RSX has 4 legs or prongs watever u call them sticking out of it...the HID's base is fully circular. i didn't install them yet cuz i think without the legs to support it, the lightbulb would fall past the hole or be wobbly which can damage it.

did anyone have this problem before or does anyone know how i can replace the base. or possibly u can just stick it in n it will work fine even without the legs?

newly found information...
if u look at the kinda squareish black objects near the upper n botton edges, those are the thing im talkin about

so the thing i was talkin about is called an X-clip according to that poster...does anyone know how i can modify it or buy one?

The X-Clip that you are talking about could be some sort of bulb holder itself. If you've ever seen a H1 bulb, you know it never has a plastic x-clip thingy attached. My best guess is that the X-Clip is a holder for the H1 bulb and a connector interface.

H1 bulbs are commonly used as foglamps as well (and that where i've seen them many times).

My brother installed HIDs in his RSX like last summer. He had his friend do it, and when his friend put it in the bulbs didnt really stay in place so the lights weren't really aligned right. My brother had to go back in and fix it himself and he bought some extra rubber things to keep it aligned. I have to say though the space for him to do it is barely there, he had to stuff his hand in the freaking tiny spaces, he didn't take the screws out because we didn't have time if he did my dad would have caught us and my dad hates it when my brother does stuff to his car. He had to basically beg my dad permission let him spend his own money to get rims, and he just installed this pioneer thing in his car secretly because my parents left for vacation, and he got his windows tinted when my parents were on vacation last year for Chinese New Year.

If you want I could ask him to see what he bought to keep the little bulbs in place.

you need to have the X clips. either you cut them off from your stock holders or get them off someone from craigslist or w.e some websites also sell them that sell hid kits. than you use those X clips to snap onto the bulb and it will stay still. also its a pinkberry to install hids on rsx's. im a previous rsx owner and there is no space to to even put your hand in and there is no where to mount your ballasts. what i did was i actually took off my bumper n headlights to get them in and i hid the ballasts behind the bumper beam. hope this helps.

I use to think it was cool to put HIDs in a car that doesn't come standard with it, but not anymore. Please try to get some projectors so you don't blind oncoming drivers.

When i see a car with HIDs that don't come stock, i want to get out of my car and smash their lights. It's so annoying not to mention dangerous to other drivers.

just don't do HID's unless you have projectors or what not.

Not about the RSX...

I have an 07 Subaru B9 Tribeca. Comes stock halogen projectors. I'd like to see if I can get HIDs for my car. Any thoughts on where to begin?
some info - headlight low beam is 12V-55W, bulb no. H7.

thx!

even if you adjust, if your headlights aren't designed for HIDs there will be glare for on coming drivers. or so i think...

I have done a hid install just last week actually. The h1 bulb is the correct size and you have to by X clips here http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Acura_Honda_Modi...lip_p/h1con.htm

Kinda pricey for just 2 peaces of plastic and shipping cost was more then the product itself. But, well worth it and easy install. FAST shipping
