For the price of 2 brand new USDM GTRs and 1 370z = the price of one jdm GTR V-Spec

From C&D:
QUOTE
As the hype surrounding Nissan’s GT-R sports car has tapered off somewhat, the company plans to keep the buzz fresh by unleashing a higher-performance Spec V model on the Japanese market early next month. Based on the standard 480-hp car, which is no slouch for a vehicle topping 3900 pounds, the Spec V is lighter and more track-focused, yet does without much additional gusto under the hood.

Available only in black and with two seats (lighter carbon-fiber Recaros), the GT-R Spec V gets down to fighting weight through the use of carbon fiber for the grille, brake ducts, and rear spoiler, as well as on the center console, instrument panel, and other interior areas. Also featured are standard carbon-ceramic brakes and lightweight forged aluminum wheels (offered through NISMO since last fall), both of which should improve responsiveness by reducing unsprung mass at each corner. Overall, we expect the reduction in flab to total at least 200 pounds.

While initial speculation suggested the Spec V’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 could be massaged up to 550 hp, output remains unchanged for the production model and is aided only by a boost controller that allows the turbos to momentarily deliver greater torque at moderate and high speeds. Other performance improvements include a titanium-coated exhaust system, more-aggressive suspension tuning, and higher-grip tires, possibly the base car’s optional Dunlop SP600s or a unique R-compound setup.

Pricing in Japan for the limited-edition model works out to about $173,000, with only seven dealers certified for sales and service. The ultimate Godzilla also will ravage European roads later in the year, but North Americans will have to get their fix through YouTube because Nissan has no plans—yet—to let the Spec V loose in the U.S.

At more than double the price of a regular GT-R, the Spec V will have to lay down some serious numbers to justify its premium, particularly given the base car’s prowess in our last comparison test against the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR, and the Porsche 911 GT2. However, this new model strengthens the lore surrounding the GT-R as one of the ultimate exotics, as well as a forbidden fruit for us on this side of the Pacific.

There's a difference between titanium and titanium coated...so it does nothing for it except look good, rust prevention, add little weight.

As well as I love Nissan the GT-R right now is a overrated car. Don't get me wrong the GT-R is one bad mofo and fast as heck but one thing about this car that is HUGE turn off for me is the Vehical Dynamic Control system. If you do research drivers of the GT-R will tell you DO NOT TURN THIS OFF WHILE THE CAR IS IN WARRENTY why because if you use the VDC it will void your warrenty. All the vids that you saw about the car on the race track and being able to do crazy stuff on the drag all has to do with the Vehical Dynamic Control turn off because it give you more traction and like the title says more control over the car.

Until Nissan does something about this the GT-R is a huge turn off cause of that reason. Heck I want to enjoy my car and not being about to turn off the VDC doesn't get you enjoy all the power of the car. So Nissan can make a 1000 hp GT-R in the future but until people are able to use the VDC without getting their warrenty void will be a big concern.

EDIT JUST FOUND OUT THAT VDC AKA LC will not be in the 2010. wow sucks for the 2009 owners

you're making no sense with this sentence. VDC and launch control are 2 separate things.

As for launch control, it's being taken out because too many GTR drivers are screwing up their trannies from using it.

Then why is it I can have launch control without a VDC (which btw my car isn't equipped with either but I still can do l/c manually). Ask your dealer that.

Now that is a seriously overpriced Nissan, I think they are really trying too hard on this car now. I would settle with a R33 GT-R; that'd make my life complete.

I took out my rear seats in my car. Lost a total net weight of 15-20 lbs. How much did cost me? Absolutely free, sham-wow!
