Hmm.. Idk I don't think the MR movement is a bad thing.. The thing is.. having a busy schedule and unfortunate circumstances is not an excuse for not sounding the best because all the idol groups go through it. I mean, we can sympathize with them b/c we <3 the girls but the Korean community is judging artists solely based on their vocal PERFORMANCE. We cannot hate netizens from critizing their performance ya kno~ Ack, I hate sounding like a netizen but for KPOP overrall, the movement is good b/c it will push artists to perform well in live.
I mean I freakin' <3 the girls and I know for sure 100% they are talented, but it's true they lack in live vocal performance :T Especially, Sohee.. I WISH they would promote more songs that showcase her voice (LIKE LOVE YOU, I DO! She was great there). But we shouldn't just deny all the netizen allegations but face reality and looks towards improvement. Hopefully, the girls will bust out with a great, fitting song later in '09 and show the world THE TALENTS THEY HAVEN'T SHOWN YET! LIKE SOHEE!

I'm going to be very honest -- though I'm a Wonderful through and through, I'm not a blind fan (or in this case, deaf), and can see why some of the listeners may've assumed that the Wonder Girls are bad singers from the allkpop article. I think such assumptions drawn from this article about the group as a whole today are very shallow though, because that was only a single performance, over a year ago, with a song that the girls have admitted that they didn't emphasize vocals for. 'Tell Me' isn't about vocal quality; didn't Sunye once say that JYP explicitly told them not to sing that strongly because they were supposed to emulate the eighties?
Furthermore, you can't determine singing ability from a live performance on a stage when the group is dancing -- there are too many other factors to consider. I question the knowledge of the critics, because anyone with any vocal experience would know that an a cappella performance speaks volumes about a singer. Here is zlal's comment (#36) from the allkpop article:

I think we should stop talking about the MRs of their live performances. Wonderfuls love them no matter what so lets just ignore it. Its part of being popular, like MC Mong's song Circus, the more you rise in popularity, the more people are watching your every move. Lets just focus on the important stuff such as their bangkok concert in a week.

i am soooo excited for Wonder Girls concerts to start! i bought the most expensive tickets for the JYP Tour!
i'm so glad that i live right here in NYC i know some people are gonna be traveling.
I live really close to the venue where the Wonder Girls will be performing ^__^.
my plan is to scout out 34th street and K-Town before they perform maybe they'll go into Starbucks or something before!!
on a side note...
a lot of anti-fans or non Wonderfuls judge the girls based on singing ability shown in MR videos and even non MR videos but what a lot of them don't know is that SoHee has a deep voice. I feel like JYP really markets on the fact that SoHee is so cute ^__^ and looks so young <3 and honestly by looking at her it is expected of her to have a squeaky "minnie mouse" voice but in reality her and SunMi have extremely deep voices and if more people knew that maybe they wouldn't be so quick to judge.
I just finished watching the SoHee singing "circus" it was soo cute and it shows that she does have quite a voice on her just JYP needs to showcase it more!!

haha...even all the MR stuff can't bring my mood down these days, because the girls first concert is happening in 6 days! (yahh..take that you antis..that must've hurt..hehe!).
I am so excited about it that I was in class 2 days back and was daydreaming about what all they had prepared and I didn't realize I had been singing Nobody...at the end of the class the guy in front of me turns back and gives me the cheesiest grin...lol!
