I'm a very competative person and have always been that way. It's my senior year of high school and I finally got to do something I've wanted to do since freshman year: get onto the academic decathlon team. I studied all semester and got the highest score out of our school's prospective team members. w00t.gif

My biggest competition is a male friend from another school. We are constantly comparing scores and trying to beat one another. He said my competative drive is quality that's attractive in girls but I've heard other guys say that really driven girls can be a bit of a drag.

So out of curiosity, how many of you guys would say a competative girl is attractive? How many say no? And for both, why?

ignorance can be educated, drunkenness sobered,
but stupid lasts forever"

I like competitive partners, but not to the point where it would devour the relationship. For girls--this might be a bit of an unexpected response since I'm female and bisexual--I prefer them to be ambitious but not petty about scores simply because I don't believe scores are reflective of a person's true intelligence. I prefer people who are actually intelligent, not multiple choice answering drones. Much of the secret to high grades is actually time management and organization, not intelligence, so I would have to say that I wouldn't jump any horses on a person's intelligence just by their scores. When it comes down to actually nitpicking about whose intellect is 'better' simply because of factors like GPA or test scores, I would have to say that it's highly unattractive. The competitive nature is itself very attractive, but there's a fine line between competing for a personally fulfilling prize like knowledge and competing for an individually worthless prize like numbers on a sheet of paper.

Better drinker= doesn't get drunk easily/that quick, high alcohol tolerance

So you get drunk before she does...what you gonna do about that huh?!

I love competitive, driven, and confident girls, BUT I wouldn't want a girl who's too independent. I want to have my role as a guy and be there for my girl when she needs me. I don't want my girl to act strong when she's weak in the inside. It's hard, and I don't want my girl to go through that. I want my girl to come to me so I can be there for her. I'm a very independent guy, and I know how hard it is for independent people to get into relationships. Since I'm independent, driven, competitive, and confident, i have the type of personality of where I want to protect my girl, and for that reason, I want a girl who knows what she wants and goes gets it, but when it gets tough for her, i'd want her to be dependent enough to come to me.

I think too many people both men and women, including myself, become too independent as a side effect of being competitive, driven, and confident, that they become lonely and keep all the anger, frustration, and sadness to themselves. I don't want my girl to go through that.

off topic: Im sorry, but I have to mention that you keep misspelling "competitive".
