I have been going out with my boyfriend for almost a year and a half now and we are doing well. We are in a long distance relationship. For a few months now I've become really close with my guy friend. I don't like him or anything and he knew from the start I was already in a relationship. But lately (2 months) he's been flirty with me a lot and we go out one on one. We have never crossed boundaries. He has been hinting that he likes me but I chose to play dumb since I want to keep him as a friend but I am also content with my boyfriend. So now, this guy starts telling me we can't be friends anymore and that he's suffering. One day he just told me to stop talking to him and that we wont hangout anymore. But then he starts talking to me again and a day later its back to the "go Away" speech. I don't know why he's doing this. Is it because he expected me to break up with my boyfriend? What should I do? I still want to be friends even if we're not as close. But sometimes I just get so emotionally tired that I just want to give up but a part of me misses his company and friendship because I feel like he understands me very well.

I don't think he's trying to mess with you. He just sees you more than a friend. And you don't feel that way. So, he has to control his feelings for you just to be friends. Day in and day out waiting for the lucky day that something bad happens between you and your boyfriend. But as time passes, he can't handle it anymore. So he has two choices. The bad choice is to manipulate you to thinking your boyfriend is bad and that he is the better choice. The good choice is to just leave so that he doesn't have to hurt anymore inside. I dunno if by leaving he wanted to make you do something but that depends again. If he's good then he believes leaving is the only way for him to move on from you and for you to be happy with your boyfriend. He doesn't want to cause mixed emotions for you. If he's bad then he is just messing with your feelings and to sway you his way.

Thanks, that wasn't confusing at all and I understand that it's hard to be with someone who doesnt share the same feelings as you. But, I guess i'll miss the friendship.
