i wish i recorded it. but i hit around 130 in my 1995 540i. 6 speed!
it was on route 130 too (for new jersey ppl), so i like to say i went 130 on 130.

i stopped only cuz i felt a pebble hit my windshield from the truck that i was about to pass, and it was pretty damn loud.

btw, your 1st gear is ridic. 0-40 in 1 second.

every higher model bmw like the 335i should do at least a limited 155 mph. im sure he just went 130 because the road wasnt long enough or saw a cop or something. but i always wondered how much better a chip will make the 335i. i remember someone said something like it makes it the 335imequivalent of the m3 at least in acceleration.

and mikez is right... your stock g37 can't hang with a chipped 335i. You can get all the bolt ons available for you car and you would still lose.

Maybe its just me, but chipping a turbocharged car seems to have a greater range/potential than a NA equivlent. Sometimes tuning for higher boost limits, as well as AFR changes and so on.

Too bad it costs $800 to get my car's computer reflashed for the extra 50HP and 50lb/ft torque (and thats a conservative tune too).

are you sure cause i was at a drag strip in dec. a guy in a black 335i had some chips and re-done his ecu and raced a red g37 with hks intakes and bolara exhausts and the g37 beat it in the quater.


g37 ran a 13.3 and the bmw ran a 13.5

it was a close race but g37 still won.

well i guess you have your choices and i have mine. well the reason i didnt pick it up was due to to soo many engine problems like that overheating and engine problems in the first year.

Over heating only applies to the ones without the sports pkg that comes with the intercooler.

A chipped 335i can push 400+ hp at the crank, can you your g37 keep up with that? Its without doubt any where in the world that 335i when chipped > anything its price range, cept a chipped 135i lol.

G37 is a nice car, but you gotta be a major fanboy not to see that 335i is better... and thats coming from a guy who hates bmw like me so no offense towards you of course, you love your G

And that 335i driver you said got beat must be some spoiled kid who cant even shift, stock vs stock 335i still beats g37. A chipped 335i can hang with cars the likes of Lambo Gallardo on a high speed run, and even beat the M3 in the 1/4 mile, unless I am terribly mistaken no g37 can do that.

that 335 run low 12's. you think if you install a borla exhaust and hks intakes on your g37 will shave off 1.8 seconds off your 1/4 time and add 13 mph to your trap speed?
