i am currently going to a community college and signed up for college algebra. this is the equivalent of pre-calc, but it does not include trig, so i can only take business calculus not calculus after completing the course. i decided on doing this because i want to be a business major, but now im starting to think...
what if i want to change majors? im going to have to retake basically 2 of the same classes, ill need to take pre-calc and regular calculus this time...
i looked at possibly changing my schedule, but its the day before classes start, so everything is full. my only hope of getting in is to change the time of my speech class (which is currently scheduled on mondays/wednesdays) to 8 am on tuesdays and thursdays (ill have to wait 2 hours after that to go to my next class). then i would have to go to a wait-listed class (6 people so far) and hope i could get in.
the thing is... if i move my speech class but dont get into pre-calc... ill have to wait 2 1/2 hours on monday/wednesday. that means ill be at school between classes every day for at least 2 hours. i really dont want to do that... but i guess i can do homework if i need to...
sorry if this is confusing... does anyone have a suggestion for what i should do? or any ideas? thanks!

Are you intent on becoming a business major? As long as that's your plan, then go with it for now. You can worry about these things should you change your mind. Also, you don't necessarily have to take these classes now, correct? So I would stop stressing and if your schedule is perfect, then don't worry about it.
If math is not your strongest subject, then it would be a better idea to take business calculus anyways. From what I've heard, it's much easier than regular calculus so you have a better chance of ending up with a good grade.

I'm willing to bet you there isn't too much difficulty difference, and you'd be more broadly ready if you go ahead and take pre-calc... if you're 100% on business, then take the college algebra, otherwise my advice would be to check in to pre-calc.
