Does anyone go to University of Maryland - College Park? If so how is the campus? Do you feel happy there?
I'm planning to transfer there as a 1st semester Junior because I'm unhappy at the University i'm in right now.
Just like an idea of what it would be like there and what kind of people the students seem like~~anything will help thank you ^^

my boyfriend goes there.
he likes it there.
the campus is HUGE though.
lots of activities to do.
washington d.c. is very close by.
so you probably won't be very bored.
there's tons of parties though.
but many colleges have parties.
i think it depends mainly on what you're gonna major in.
i wanted to major in nursing.
but cp doesn't offer it. @__@;

I don't go there, but I've been there for competitions. They have a gorgeous ballroom in their little student center thing where the food courts are. The Armory (weird basketball court... gym... thing) is in a weird place. As a complete outsider that's what I think. It was like... ON campus but across the street from Greek row. >< And from what I heard of it from the guy we were staying with on campus, it's a closed campus? So like... everything is kinda right there and we needed permission to get in and all of that. OH. And the metro station was a five minute drive from the Armory, so you could go into D.C. (I think that takes an hour and a half or something? Mer. W/e, it was convenient. XD
All I really remember besides that was that the campus was pretty. *o* Best of luck to you.

I do go there (just completed my 1st semester so I can't say much)... I thought this was an official thread but its not
and yes, its very big. there are a lot of facilities available on campus that you can use. its not in DC but very conveniently located and green. so you don't feel like you're surrounded by concrete--the campus is very nice.
as for the social life outside of campus, i cant say much. i never went to parties and didnt make many friends since i went home every weekend. there are a few bars nearby and as for clubs, once again, DC is very near. sometimes though (according to my roommate) there may not be that much to do besides that (this is excluding the various frat parties and recreational stuff inside the campus). this is because CP is a college town and not much else. of course, i don't know the area, so...
many activities and clubs within the campus though. the STAMP Student Union has a rec area in the basement for your billiards, bowling, and arcading/DDRing needs. theres also a performing arts center, Eppley Rec Center (gym w/ indoor & outdoor pool, ball courts, equipment, indoor track), movie theater (also in Stamp), etc.
