Hey guys,
my friend who isn't registered here @ soompi asked me to ask you guys to help her with her listening task since most of you are English-speaking people so you probably wouldn't have problems with understanding the text.
She got this video from the English teacher:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADs9x1XXwbE...feature=related
She is in panic because she doesn't understand most parts of the video and she'll get a mark for this (she has to make a gap text for this video). She asks if you can help her by writing down what they say in the video.
Please, be so kind and help my friend with this. She said she thanks you guys in advance and would be very grateful and happy if you guys help her.
Thank you very much.

1st part haha
We take students from age 8 to 18 and the...? of the school is to allow the children to discover their own level of drug intake and to develop their own sense of maturity. But we do have one or two problems occasionally, and with extortionate prices being demanded, and once the price rises above, for instance, 15 pounds for a quarter ounce of rock and hashish then we would put a control on that price, and we would then use our own supplies into the system. Usually by age 15 or 16 they're injecting themselves with heroin, and by the time they're 17 or 18, they're generally rather bored of it. The one rule we do insist on, by the way, is that all drugs, especially the hard drugs, are of medical quality.

I'll post the English here [or what I could understand of it], but please know that none of this information is actually true, and this is from a satirical TV show.
We take students from age 8 to 18, and the whole ____ of the school is to allow the children to discover their own level of drug intake, and to develop their own sense of maturity. We do have one or two problems occasionally with extortionate prices being demanded, and once the price rises above, for instance, 15 pounds for a quarter ounce of rock and hashish, we would put a control on that price and we would then introduce our own drugs into the system. Usually by about the age 15 or 16 they are injecting themselves with heroin, [Passerby says, "Morning."] and by the time they're 17 or 18, they are getting rather bored with it. The one rule we do insist on, by the way, is that all drugs, especially the hard drugs, are of medical quality. [Scene with the man/adviser and the girl] "How's it going?" "I've got a bit of a problem." "Oh yes?" "Yeah, I'm running out of money and I'm not going to have enough to buy new drugs." "Oh dear." "I thought you could help." "I can't start telling you how to spend your many and save it, can I? It's your problem. And you just walk in here and expect me to sort this out for you. ::Pause:: Do you know Mr. Phillips?" "He's a geography teacher." "You know his wife died a couple of months ago, don't you? Well, he's been very lonely. Very depressed. Why don't you have a word with him, go and see him, explain your problem, and he can explain his problem to you." [Back to the commentary] When the children have gone away on holiday, and the staff have gone home, I have the place to myself and I rather enjoy turning up some loud rock music and reliving the old days of going on a three day binge or something like that. But it doesn't happen very often these days.
Hopefully that was helpful. I may have missed some small things, but this should give you all the proper information. Good luck and please remember this TV show is a hoax and not a valid representation of the US/UK.
The English teacher who assigned this must be crazy....

i think the blurred out word was "lethal"
im not sure though but that's what it sounds like to me.
"And the whole lethal of the school is to allow the children to discover their own level of drug intake, and to develop their own sense of maturity."
i could be wrong though.

Okay guys, sorry to disturb you AGAIN, but another friend of mine got the listening task (again a gap text) from the teacher this time, and since she, like my other friend, doesn't understand the video she got, she asked me to ask you guys to help her with the listening task because she doesn't have a soompi account.

(And yes, our topic in English is "drugs", that is why all the videos I post here are about drugs...)
I'd like to thank you guys in advance for my friend.^^

i hope this isn't too late.
Hi my name John and I started understandmyteen.com . Uhm. the entire goal of the understand my teen project is i'm trying to help parents of teenagers to better understand the world in which your teenager lives in the troubles and tribulations that your teen goes through in regards to teen drug abuse in teenager drug culture, relationships and sex, education in regards to making a successful career in high school and making that successful transition into a college career. And uhm...to give you a little background about this situation, this is whole project was inspired by a pretty rough situation I went through a little while ago. Uhm... a childhood friend of mine died from a prescription drug incident. And uhm...to give you a little background, he was at a party, his friend offered him oxycottons(?) which are essentially a very strong prescription painkiller. And uhm...he took those pills which is not uncommon in the teenage world. those things go around like crazy. And uhm...he took the pills, and threw series pretty tragic situations. that night he died. And I really feel like that could've been prevented if certain things were different in the teenage world. If certain things where parents were a little bit more informed on what goes on. And uhm...going that fear changed my life. I mean, uhm...that type of situation changes your life. If you've ever been into that type of situation, you understand that. If you haven't been into that situation, i hope you never have to go through it. But uhm...that's my entire goal with the understand my teen project is that im trying to help parents and teens to better understand what their teenagers go through in this current teenage generation and how you can help your teen navigate those trials and tribulations. so check out the website. uhm...there's the blog i write about different topics relating to the teenage culture, teen drug abuse, teen relationships&sex, education, all that different stuff.
that's really the general stuff he talks about. the rest are just advertising.
i hope this helps.
