Would you take a foreign language if it were optional? Most likely yes
How, if ever, have you applied your studies outside of school? Not for anything serious haha.. I only speak Spanish sometimes to hispanics on online rpg games or just like to speak Spanish for fun with my friends (whom are also in Spanish)
People shouldn't be forced to learn a second language...but personally, I think it would be good for people if they did. It makes you more culturally aware in a way, even if it's just slightly. Plus it always fun to talk about people behind their backs in a different language so they can't understand you.

How many years of foreign language have you taken? Do we count outside of high school as well? If so, 10 years.
Do you think foreign language classes should be required in high school? Yes.
Would you take a foreign language if it were optional? Yes.
How, if ever, have you applied your studies outside of school? Being able to communicate efficiently with people that only speak that language and being able to watch dramas without subtitles LOL.

How, if ever, have you applied your studies outside of school? went to quebec and it was easier to understand signs & tv, but it didnt help too much

How many years of foreign language have you taken? Three (Three in HS, and three in JHS (but I'm assuming you only want the HS years if not then its 6 yrs))

Do you think foreign language classes should be required in high school? Yes (to a certain point). My school only requires 2 years though.
Would you take a foreign language if it were optional? Depends on the language, but yeah. I'd take Chinese. I can speak it fluently, but I can't read or write that well.

How, if ever, have you applied your studies outside of school? Travelling to Quebec,
sometimes French would be used, but usually just English.
It comes in handy when i have to translate other latin languages (x
[and it makes me sound cooler cuz i can say i speak even more languages~ LOL jk]

-- Spanish: When I worked at McDonalds. ^^ A lot of the employees spoke only Spanish, so it helped a little bit.

Do you think foreign language classes should be required in high school? I'd think so, considering the fact that you need a second language for college or university (I think)
Would you take a foreign language if it were optional? Oh yeah, it's a lot easier than taking other classes.
How, if ever, have you applied your studies outside of school? Yes, I meet a bunch of people that speak French and I start practicing on them. I'd like to go to Quebec and France too, it'd be handy dandy.
Although I don't know if French is a foreign language in Canada or not, more like a second one.

Travels and communication with people of different languages. It helps you build a connection with the person you're talking to/association with.
