To me it seems like it's the big ones. I just went to Hofstra University (around 10K students?) and they were pretty big on partying. I guess it depends on the school though. Who knows, maybe there are smaller ones that are pretty big on partying too.

All schools have parties period. Even my school, which has LESS than 10k students, grad and undergrad combined, have parties all the time. You just have to know where to looks and when they are.

My school is in the 30K range... and parties are everywhere. There's a whole neighborhood size area just for Fraternity and Sorority housing, just look at places like that. But be careful... I know people who've gotten slammed for getting caught.
Three freshman this year with the same scholarship as I have lost it for good because of their drinking tickets. (underage drinking, public drunkenness, etc.) Police officers around colleges know how to write them up to the max =/

The major party schools are generally big schools with large frat populations. At small schools, the parties will more often be smaller gatherings of friends.

In California, I think it's Chico State and UCSC so I'm guessing larger schools will have more of a party environment. I forget the site, but it shows all the colleges and people rate it's social environment...you might want to find it if you're looking for party colleges or something.

Every school has parties and could be considered pretty big on partying.

I think almost any school where most students stay on campus will be guaranteed party after party. Especially if they have frats and sororities.
My school is a commuter school, where everyone mostly lives at home or off campus, so we don't have that many parties that are school related.
But I know other schools in Texas like the University of Texas in Austin never seems to run out of parties.

i believes that its either the large schools or the schools that are placed in small cities. my school, oregon state university is located in a small town that has maybe has a total population of 25000-30000 where my school has about 15000 students itself. and theres nothing to do in the town since everything is literally withing a 5 mile radius till you reach farms. all there is to do is either party or hang out with friends.
Always know if the juice is worth the squeeze
