To the guys that do weight training.
How important is the incline bench / dumbell press for building up the chest?
Is it bad doing flat bench only? Or must there be a mixture? crazy.gif

How much do you bench?

use to do 35kg now only 25 tears.gif

If you want to develop your chest fully then you should do the incline also. The upper chest
is usually where most people have trouble getting growth so I would suggest you do it.
However, it is completely up to you.

To try and get even, I used to (slacked off some lately... >.>) do both flat and incline. Do them out wide, shoulder width, and in closer; this way you'll more fully develop the entire muscle group. It's a bit harder, and make sure you adjust weights accordingly. Hands in closer is MUCH harder than hands out wide. But it's worth it to get the defined chest if that's what you're looking for.

it helps to mix them up.
flat, incline, decline.

decline focuses more on your lower chest, shoulder, biceps, triceps many some other muscles.
but those mainly. incline is upper. and flat bench basically targets the chest.

push-ups are effective too
just mix it up
wide arm pushups
or lock ur elbows on your sides. etc

IMO Incline is probably the most important out of the three. I recommend doing incline first. If you want to just show off how much you can rep when your fresh, than do flat bench to boost the ego smile.gif.

do a mix. our football coaches are professional gym owners and they no wat they're talking about.
first BENCH PRESS! straight up bench press. do how many sets/reps u wnana do.
then go to the incline with the dumbells making an arch, and then decline..

incline is basically like the chest muscles close to your shoulders, and works some shoulder muscles too.
well, i still think regular bench is most important..
and decline is like the lower area where it gets' the shape u want
